So far, I'm happy with it. It's particle board so any bump will scratch, chip or mess up the paint. Instructions were worse than bad. One shelf was not painted. Difficult to assemble. We should have returned it, but for where we wanted to use it we were able to make it work. I will not buy another one.

Only on Amazon can I find the same rustic wood color that matches my desk and the bookcase in my bedroom. This fits in beautifully. This thing fought against being assembled, but I succeeded, even though my cat kept walking over pieces AS I was assembling them and there was a lot of fiddling and flipping. I wasn't used to the little wooden "nails," so it took me a bit to get that right. At no point did any wood sound as if it was cracking or splintering when screws were installed, so I have to say that something was done right. The top "floats" until it settles, and you can force it to settle by simply putting heavy things on top. LIFT FROM THE SIDES to get it into place; the top may try to pop off if you grab it that way and you certainly don't want to lift it by any of the shelves. And now I have a gorgeous little bookcase beside my couch, decorated with crystals, an emotion wheel, and a candle on top and some of the journals that I'm amassing on the second shelf. The bottom shelf is for Space Cat, which works wonderfully because he's a fifteen-pound ball of crazy, and the upper shelves can hold only about ten pounds each. The shelf is your basic laminated particle board material with wood peg and screw construction. Easy straightforward illustrated step by step instructions makes it maybe 15-25 minutes setup with a cordless drill using a Phillips tip. But Iโ€™d keep it on the #3 notch and finish the locking anchors by hand with a screwdriver to speed things up while not damaging the particle board. There were some dings and dents and chipped off laminate around the predrilled areas, but nothing too noticeable from standing distance. I do wish they had stickers or plastic covers for the locking anchors though. Those really stand out even across the room if you donโ€™t have tall books covering them up. The biggest complaint though is the screws attaching the bottom board donโ€™t have countersunk holes and stick out a couple millimeters and will scratch up anything not carpeted. So I added a few rubbed feet I had leftover from clay pots I did a couple years ago and that worked out for my hardwood laminate floor where I wanted to put this shelf. Overall itโ€™s ok. Itโ€™s less expensive than other Furinno shelves they have on offer, but still more expensive than a Mainstays at about similar quality. ... show more

Great little corner shelf. This blends in with my table lamp, cabinet, and monitor risers perfectly, and is the finishing touch on my office. Couldnโ€™t be happier, assembly was problem free (no missing parts, good fitment), weight is enough to keep it where I put it. Great shelf for the price!

In hindsight? Maybe not my brightest idea. The instructions were a bit vague, and certain pieces werenโ€™t labeled as clearly as I would have liked. Given how itโ€™s designed, having a second person would have made this significantly easier (or at least saved me from performing Cirque du Soleil moves trying to hold one side while screwing in the other). Thereโ€™s definitely a broken dowel somewhere in there, and one panel is only half attached, but heyโ€”if no one can tell, it doesnโ€™t count, right? That said, once itโ€™s together, itโ€™s sturdy and looks great.
