I got this bookshelf in the "mid-century, 8-cube" style as it's neutral enough to fit in with my existing furniture and provides a good amount of storage for my many books, movies, games, etc. I love the mid-century style, as well! This looks like the product pictured, contained all necessary parts (you'll still need a screwdriver and hammer or mallet), and everything was the proper size with holes in the right places. I especially like the look of the wooden legs. Installation was pretty straight-forward, and it feels pretty secure for a composite wood flatpack furnishing. I really appreciate that they use sustainable-certified wood. FYI, I suspect the other reviewer who said all the holes were misaligned may have gotten an older version of the manual that listed a piece in the wrong place: the manual I received had two part labels on the first diagram covered over with a sticker, so I think there was a misprint at some point. Still, I will say that assembly absolutely took longer than 30 minutes. It's not hard or confusing, but hammering in all the nails to the backing is tedious and takes a good chunk of time, even with the somewhat helpful added tool. I am a small yet handy woman and spent probably an unrushed hour and a half assembling this while I watched a movie. What I don't love is how obvious all of the holes - especially for the adjustable middle shelf and the camlocks - stand out against the white. There are no stickers included to cover the screws. It makes the entire finished product look a little shoddier and cheaper. I think at this price, I would expect to receive finishing touches like that. However, overall, this is still a sizeable piece of furniture that provides a good amount of storage and has a little more elevated look than your typical cube organizer. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: The Furinno Daly 8-Cube Horizontal Bookcase has a clean, modern look and is a good size for small spaces. The espresso finish is attractive and blends well with most decor. It’s also fairly easy to assemble. However, the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. The materials feel lightweight, and once assembled, the unit isn’t very sturdy—especially if you plan to store heavier items like books. It’s better suited for light storage or decorative items. If you're looking for a budget-friendly organizer for light use, it might work. But for long-term durability or heavier storage, you may want to consider other options. ... show more

A rubber mallet is handy for 'helping' things align, with this one. The instructions and pre-drilled holes aren't great, but if you've ever built ikea knockoffs you know what to expect. Definitely costs about twice as much as it should for what you get, but it is what it is.

I opened this box excited to put my new bookshelf together. Organized all the pieces and every single board is cut wrong. None of the holes line up. The only way to make it work is to drill all new holes. Which I don't feel works because I don't have a drill and don't think the integrity of the wood will hold up with holes being drilled so close together. Book case is a good size but its a little on the flimsy side. Assembly was straight forward but does require some attention when putting together so you don’t use the wrong part. When i say flimsy its because its compressed wood and you shouldn’t use electrical tools only manual tools so you dont over tighten.
