This is a 5 stars product to me even with its few flaws. Why?! because it works perfectly fine as a bookshelf and it's pretty inexpensive. According to the instruction, each tier can hold up to 15 lb, which is reasonable a rating for its design. General speaking the lowest shelf is the strongest, thus, the heavier books should go down there. If you look at the second photo in my review, you will see a particle board with a pre-drilled hole. That is how the whole thing is put together. There are 2 holes in each side, and each board is secured with 4 screws in each side. Because particle board doesn't have a lot of strength, this design is NOT very strong at all. While a 15 lb rating is good enough for most people, you can increase its holding power by installing few small L-brackets underneath each rack and after that it would be very nice. I can tell that the particle boards is of very high quality and it should hold up to 50 lb after installing few L-brackets. (Update: I went out and bought few L-brackets for few dollars. And After installing them, the boards are totally stable. These brackets are necessity for this shelf in my opinion, even if you don't really put too much weight in it.) The other thing I want to say is the 3 back panels. Despite of their thinness, they are actually very important for stabilizing the whole frame. The instruction doesn't say to nail in the middle section and it doesn't come with extra nails neither, but it's crucial to have nails in those strategical spots. I got my own small black nails and hammer in 12 extra nails in the middle sector. See photos. Last but not least, I will buy this shelf again. If not to put books in, it can be used as a very nice organizer for other stuffs. Shipping is surprising fast for a heavy item like this. I ordered in on Sep 8, and got it here in Sep 12, and it's free shipping.

I buy a lot on Amazon and read lots of reviews. So I thought I should write one about this. This thing is absolutely horrible! Granted nobody expects shelves at this price to be solid wood, but do yourself a favor and get something else. There are a lot of inexpensive shelves on the market. We have just moved into a new home and have been installing some. Picked this one up because of the color and the price. Big mistake. This is absolutely the worst of the lot. This shelf uses Phillips head wood screws into particleboard. Very flimsy. The particleboard is very, very cheaply made.

So far so good I just put it up in my sons room for all his books it is a little unstable on the carpet so I will get some furniture ties to keep it from falling on him also for some reason I thought the shelfs were adjustable but they are not. I also do not like how you can see te screws on the side but again this is working well for his books and even his tall books for with out an issue

Our church sewing group needed a small bookcase for some small project boxes. We didn’t want to go to garage sales due to social distancing. We took a chance on this. I’m over 60 years old and over the years I’ve assembled numerous boxed bookcases and this is by far and away the worst one ever. The way it was predrilled was off. As a result the sides are effectively upside down...the finished edge is in the bottom and the unfinished edge is on the top as shown in the attached photo. The documentation that came with it states a weight limit of 15 lbs per shelf. I sincerely doubt that the entire unit could support 15 lbs. I know that you get what you pay for but in my wildest dreams I couldn’t fathom that something so cheap would ever be available for sale. Makes me wish I’d gone to a big box store which is typically my last resort.

This was a great cheap buy. I got for $13. I put together myself and had no issues. Took less than 20 mins. I chose to leave the backing off. It's in our playroom and I liked it best without it. I had no issues lining the holes up. It's cheap feeling but looks fine for what I wanted it for.

Purchased this to hold lightweight paperbacks and some knick-knacks. Very awkward to assemble. Shelves are affixed by running screw through a hole in the outer cabinet through the center of the shelf (good luck lining that up) without splitting the shelves. I ruined 2 shelves when trying to line up he screws. Nothing was predrilled. Despite the view of the bookcase online, in person you can see the screwheads on the outside of the cabinet. They don't even supply a sticker or plug to cover them. I'm not disassembling this unit to ship it back. I'm tossing it in the garbage. I'll eat the $30, ruefully. If this is representative of all their units, you should walk away. Spend a couple of extra bucks, like I just did, and get a real wood shelving unit. I should've known better. You get what you pay for.

The instructions were easy to follow. Took about 45 minutes to assemble(included me uninstalling and installing pieces). The material had holes that allowed you to easily put it together. The back is very flimsy. The finished product did not look like the picture. I received 3 A parts, two with finished ends on 1 side and a 3rd with an unfinished end on both sides. This was a mistake. They all should have been designed the same. Part A should be at the top of the bookcase, but the holes were not evenly aligned. I flipped mine upside down. Since there was extra space When I ordered this product in March it said made in the USA. The PO on the box clearly says country of origin us Malaysia. I also have a record of the Amazon representative saying it was made in the USA. It took over a month to arrive due to the COVID19 pandemic. I would've ordered again so that I could've had matching bookcasss but the price increased by $10 and the description was deceptive... The instructions says the max weight for each shelf is 15lbs.... Yet the description on Amazon says 25lbs.... The max weight is definitely 15lbs. The material is very flimsy. I wouldn't take a chance
