This is such a fun, complete and well made set of musical instruments for little kids. We’ve had many, and this is the only set that includes less common instruments like the maracas and clapper for percussion. There is a greater variety of instruments and sounds to explore and discover, and our toddlers have more fun and play longer with this set. The wood is smooth and nicely finished - no weird sharp edges or splinters to be found. The paint is nontoxic, so I can feel good about our toddlers playing with these. The paint colors are very tasteful pastel neutrals that look pretty just sitting there too. The value is excellent for the quality - the instruments actually sound pretty good! Most of the toddler instruments we’ve had sounded cheap and tinny. These aren’t made for the orchestra, sure, but they do offer a high quality introduction to the joy of making noise and eventually perhaps fostering a child’s desire to make music. Our baby loves music and this musical toy set works very well for her. I like the design of all the toys in the set. The soft colors look pretty, the shapes of the toys are cute as well. All the toys are nicely manufactured, I didn't find any issue on the made quality. Once I opened the package, I played all the toys to my baby. She is attracted to these toys right away, eyes wide open, even reached out and wanted to touch the toys despite she is only 3 months old still. Great diverse set of musical instruments to keep your baby occupied and motivate them to learn. All the instruments are kids friendly in terms of sizes and texture. There’s nothing here that would be a concern if your kid wants to nibble on. The sounds are nice and clear. All my children (not just the toddler) are highly attracted to these cute instruments. The colors are soft and appealing. The wood is sanded smooth for small hands. The xylophone plays a little 8 note scale in a sweet tone, making simple tunes possible. The wooden castanet "clapper" takes some force to make it work, which makes it a bit hard for a toddler to do. I noticed that the box had the "for ages 3 and up" label, while the packaging and photos make it seem like it is also for younger children. This set is the perfect size for tiny hands to play with. It's also great that everything is so small because it makes storage a breeze. The media could not be loaded. Almost all of the instruments had an issue. Only xylophone and metal triangle were ok but it doesn't worth the money just for that. It has loose pieces and splinters in the wood parts in tambourine. Maracas is also painted and finished badly and has cracks. Other instrument's elastic came out with pulling lightly.
