This helmet fits a bit larger than true to size and works great as a backup. Its lightweight, and should protect the nogen in a dump. That said, you get what you pay for here and can read my detailed review below... I say it works good for starters or a backup because there really is no replacement for a GOOD helmet. A decent helment will run you over $300 and theres really no comparison. On the road something lightweight like this feels a bit like taking the windscreen off your cycle. It works, but not great, its sorta loud, air passes in through gaps, no adjustments in padding, ect... Again that said, this is a great start and I used one very similar for years before spending real money on one. There are air inlets on the top and chin of the helmet; the chin has a small wind deflector as well, and combined they do OK at blocking wind and allowing wind to pass through the helmet on hot rides if desired. Overall these cheaper helmets leak in all places; it's not a very warm helmet, just be prepared to bring a neck gaiter and youll be fine The visor sits firm, though the seal lets a bit of air past. It doesn't have the best anti-fog coating; when in traffic, it fogs at twice the speed of my name brand. However, with the air gaps, it sheds quickly when moving.I'm never a fan of the integrated sunglasses, as most cannot do it right. These don't sit firm and rattle around, which is annoying at times, and I've had them accidentally fall down on a ride, which could be dangerous for any beginner not comfortable taking their hands off to adjust. I give points to the chin clip/adjustment; it is my favorite style. The ratcheting system is super easy to adjust; it clips/unclips with one hand and is the same style I have on my $600 name brand. The rear spoiler is cool, though it flies off if the helmet is ever dropped, and the matte coating is great for doodling up with paint markers but shows any oil, scuffs, and bugs more than a gloss helmet or one with a design. Overall, this is a solid bargain helmet, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anything better new at this price point.
