I’m usually a Large 59/60cm in a full face helmet and decided to try the Medium in this open face/partial modular/semi-full face helmet as Large opens often feel a little floppy. The Medium fits my normally Large head pretty well when the front chin piece is off the helmet. It’s downright comfortable. The tinted half shield that drops from the helmet is refreshing as it actually covers my eyes completely. Most competitors leave a gap so I can see down my nose with no tint. It’s enough of a bother to not use the feature and instead fight with sunglasses. On this helmet however, it’s perfect. The clear face shield coming down all the way to cover your chin removes some of the pain associated with riding in the rain and colder weather. The quick latch works well and the strap is adjustable for the right fit. That said, I still prefer D-rings but if this is what will get people to latch their helmets, I’m okay with it. The product manual doesn’t go into much detail beyond cleaning and reminding the user to get a new helmet if they experience a drop that could cause damage. You'll have to familiarize yourself with the features through trial and error. The matte black finish is uniform and looks nice though a few reflective strips for night riders would be an easy add-on. My only real gripes are the removable lower face piece is hard to get back on with the helmet on my head; it’s simply difficult to see where the tabs need to go. Further, the face piece is narrower and pinches the helmet back to a true Medium, making it a bit uncomfortable to wear. It also is within millimeters of my chin and I can touch it with my chin. I would keep this as an open face motorcycle or track day open helmet. It wears nicely in that role. Bottom line, order your normal size if running the front lower panel, you can likely size down if it’s an open face setup you want.

My helmet arrived compromised. The facemask portion of the helmet is broken on one side, rendering it unable to clasp into position correctly. The helmet itself had spots on it as if it were handled by someone.

…..where do I start? First of all, this is a remarkably nice helmet, the build quality is truly top notch. It came packaged in a thin cardboard box that was falling apart within the shipping box. No fault of Amazon, the manufacturer’s box was simply too flimsy. The helmet bag that I received is actually nicer than two recent bags from Bell and HJC, really impressive. The helmet itself is flat black, which I hadn’t realized. The white and gray versions are both a gloss finish, so I assumed this would be as well. My fault for not paying closer attention to the pictures. There were two dirt spots on the bottom edge of the liner. Not sure how that happened, but it cleaned right off with a damp paper towel. Makes me wonder if this was a returned helmet. I say that because this helmet might get returned itself. That is due to the chin guard in the front being so close to my face that both my nose and chin are touching it slightly. It becomes uncomfortable after a while. The inner visor cleared my nose and my glasses, which is a bit of a surprise considering how tight the chin guard is. I might become accustomed to it, but it actually reduces my confidence in this helmet. If I were to go down, my nose and lower face will definitely be impacted by the helmet. It just isn’t right in that respect. For the record, while I have a big noggin, I do not have a big nose, nor do I have a Jay Leno jaw. Everyone is different, but whoever fits in this has a far FLATTER face than mine. That makes me pretty sad, because otherwise this is a great helmet…but one with a huge detraction.

First question answered is YES, there is wind noise. You will ALWAYS have wind noise. I have worn those $1,500 helmets and they have wind noise as well, altho reduced. When I first started riding I hunted for a less noisy helmet also, just get a bluetooth headset and play music, lol. This helmet I would rate the wind noise about a 5 (if 10 was completely soundless). The helmet brand I have worn for a decade and still wear is only a 7. That is not bad for the price point. The Helmet looks fantastic and the faceplate comes off relatively easily. I love the flip down sun visor, that is always a great touch and keeps your sunglasses from getting pressed into your skull on those long trips. For this price, and with the features you get with this product, I would HIGHLY recommend it for your first helmet. Get this, try it for a year or two and save up for those really expensive ones. Maybe you'll even realize those expensive ones are not worth it BEFORE you shell out the dough for them (unlike me)

I ordered the XL which according to the measurement of my head should have fit a bit less snug than it does. The piece that separates off the front face shield is pushed up against my nose and lips slightly. The other con I have with it is Im afraid of losing the face shield. I wish it had an attached wire that would save it if the clips failed which I could see happening. The pros outweigh it. There are specially made spaces in the ear cups that will hold speakers and there are routes for the wires to go through. There is also a spot on the face piece to mount a microphone. The outside of the helmet is stylish and cool. The one thing I didnt realize was the clear shield goes all the way down past the face shield which makes sense for the helmet with the face shield removed I guess. This makes it more of a retro helmet. When you activate the sun tinted shield it looks like a fighter pilot helmet which is cool. It fogs only slightly.
