To start the box looks like any big name brand box. -However mine looked like it got kicked around the warehouse a bit before it was sent. (BOO) Inside we find a tinted shield and a helmet in a bag. -The box is "just the right size" so the helmet and shield are bouncing around the box. (YAY) -The extra shield is just loose inside, so one edge of the shield, even though its wrapped in plastic did encounter enough rubbing and moving around to rub thru the plastic, and cause edge scrapes. (BOO) The Helmet bags seems to be typical quality bag. -No ultra soft touch, but a soft protective fabric bag. (YAY) -No string cinch, just tied in a loose knot. (BOO) HELMET Starting at the brain retainer hole. -The chin curtain isn't optimized for sound, its an open mesh design to just cut down on the amount of wind allowed in. -The chin curtain seems removable, but uses push in button clips, would like to see a quicker removal for cleaning. -Moving onto the side pads or cheek pads, they seem a bit too soft IMO, I would like to see dual layer foam, but for the ask, I dont expect that. -The chin strap is a quick release, cam and detent style (common design) with larger adjustments made thru the metal buckle first. (MEH) -Chin Straps are riveted in (YAY) -The cheek/ear pads are easily removable (YAY) -Awesome speaker and mic cutouts for a comms system (see photos) (YAY) -Vent holes and countersunk channels for air to flow between the pad and the EPS layer (see photo) (YAY) -The visor is sealed with a 1pc rubber gasket. (YAY) -The visor system has detents, but from closed to first detent, is way to far up (about 2 inches from closed to first detent) (BOO) -I dont like the shield lock, a nub on the visor hitting a plastic nub on the helmet. This will wear out.(BOO) -The rubber nose shield is a nice inclusion. (MEH) -Vents have a nice positive feel when opened or closed. (YAY) -Visor uses a common "open" style quick release where you press a tab to release when the visor is fully opened. Super simple to remove and swap out. (HELL YAY!!) -Helmet has a high contrast, and very unattractive JQF logo dead center above the top of the shield between the vents (BOO) especially boo on a matte helmet, which are intended for that stealthy look IMO..... -No pin lock or even pinlock ready shield included. but at this ask, I dont expect it either. Idk, Im sure i missed something, either positive or negative, but honestly I was a little turned off with the helmet not being a brand name, but honestly I think theyve done a great job with the helmet for the ask. I think they incorporated some really premium features for the ask, and this honestly feels like a very legit helmet that probably could retail for double the current ask. ... show more

I got the medium size version of this helmet in Gray Ash. This helmet is a good fit for my head shape (slightly more oval-headed than round but not elongated either). It's also true to size, although the grooves in the padding for spectacles branches (i.e. the "slots" for holding sunglasses) are a bit high. If my head was just a bit rounder, the padding would press too hard into my cheeks. As it is, it's perfect. Speaking just for the Gray Ash color of this helmet, the design looks good, the pattern is well-drawn and the appearance is visually striking. I did not expect that for a $50+ helmet. The quick detach mechanism is sturdy and feels reliable; it latches and releases smoothly. Understandably, at this price point I knew I wasn't getting a soundproof helmet. But the noise isn't worse than my older helmet that cost 3 times more. And I think that most bikers know that the quietest helmets easily command prices upwards of $500. Plus, most bikers have more than one helmets anyway. I am happy to have this product in my "arsenal". Indeed it has become my de-facto for short non-highway trips because it's lightweight and comfortable. All in all a good product at a good price ($55.99 at the time of this review).     • Nice helmet, has features I've never seen before.
It's a great helmet at this price for sure. But it has some nice features that I really like. Pockets for speakers with channels to run the wires out the rear, hard plastic surface to use some 3M stickies for the speakers. Has a little piece of material across the chin area, great for keeping a neck wrap in place I think. Strange little nose piece atop the visor opening, not sure what the deal is with it and it keeps popping out when I grab the helmet there, it may wind up out for good, but that's ok. My favorite feature...they give you 2 visors, clear and dark, and they pop out for changing and it takes 30 seconds to do it. Nice, guys, thanks! Vents everywhere and an overall street bike racer appearance. I measured my noggin and went one size up for room for the balaclavas in the winter, perfect fit now and will be snug and warm in the winter. So I think the large is better than the medium I measured for. Hope that helps, but that's just me remember when ordering. I totally recommend this helmet, max comfy and utilitarian too. ... show more

We needed a helmet for my son to use on his go kart and the ATV. This allows for both. He can remove the front shield if he wishes to use the goggles instead. It also came with a clear and shaded shield so you can swap them out if you are using them in bright sunlight or needs the clear for nighttime. ... show more

I feel like this doesn't fall very short from my $400 helmet but this is a much more affordable version. I needed a spare helmet to keep on hand for when my dad comes to snowbird at our house each winter. He likes to take our bike out from time to time but my helmet is slightly too small for him. This is PERFECT. Fit him great and was comfortable for him. Can't complain for the price! ... show more

    • A good helmet for the price
This helmet is surprisingly well done for the price that it is being sold. The padding inside is fairly thick and makes the helmet super comfortable to wear. It has a quick release chin strap which some don't think is the best but I have used them for some years with out any issues. The interior does have the pockets and races necessary to mount a blue tooth headset in the helmet. It also comes with a chin air deflector which can be removed if not needed, The air vents work smoothly and seem adequate. It unfortunately does not come with a pinlock set up to make the visor fog proof so you would need to add a stick on inside lens if you ride in cooler weather. ... show more
