  • If you still shoot film, shoot this film.
There's really nothing quite like looking at a light table full of medium/large format slides. If you're shopping for velvia, you probably don't need anyone to sell you on how great it will make your landscapes look. You can shoot some amazing shots with this film, but you'll need to be very careful when you meter and set your exposure, as there isn't very much room for error with this (same as most slide films). Meter twice, shoot once. A couple tips: keep it in the fridge while you're not using it, and be sure to account for reciprocity error when you're shooting long exposures. A Google search will tell you how much extra time to add when you expose for longer than a few seconds. Also, save this for your landscapes, and shoot your portraits with something else, unless you like vivid, reddish skin tones. ... show more

  • ISO 50 TO DIE FOR. BUY THIS AND BE A BELIEVER.
Expect the best, get the best. This is it. The classic slide film that needs more exposure for how good it is. This film requires a tighter window for getting correct exposure. You need to be roughly only 1/2 stop off and the exposure can go all white (overexposed) or all black (underexposed). Besides the more disciplined and prepared you need to be for this. It's PROFESSIONAL for a reason. This gives the best colors and VIVID shots out there for medium format. The only other negative is it shoots people's skintones a little bit orangey, but otherwise, skys, landscapes, objects, etc are superb. Shoot with at least an app light meter on your phone, but be AMAZED once you get back the results. ... show more

  • The best LANDSCAPE film barr none!
The best! Revived my Rollei 6008 from the dead thanks to new Nimh battery and remote control car charger I am getting close to 1000 shots on a single charge. I like to set my ISO to 40 because I find the shadow a little to dark for my liking. Loved the multispot feature on my Rollei 6008! Please do not stop producing Velvia 50 and Portras. ... show more

  • I am so glad to have Amazon on my side
THE gold standard of slide film - yes dear, they still make film, quite a revival going on at present. The is roll will go through my FujiFilm GSW690 here in the stunning Pacific Northwest. Still bargain priced! Remember to keep it on the top rack of your refrigerator until day of use. I am so glad to have Amazon on my side! ... show more

  • INCOMPARABLE !
If Velvia 50 were a woman, I would woo her, marry her, and devote my life to making her happy. Anything else I say is going to be equally subjective. Get some, shoot it, and find out why it film is still state-of-the-art.

  • Love it!
As a young film newbie, this is the first time I tried Velvia 50. I absolutely LOVE IT! Now I understand why so many people swear by it. I definitely would recommend anyone to give it a try.

  • Perfect Landscape Transparencies
For me Velvia was always a close second to Kodachrome 25 as my standard landscape film. About the time that Kodachrome was discontinued, I acquired a Mamiya 7II. Velvia in the 120 (6x7) format provides incredible results. Super fine, vivid colors, and captures the magic light like no other format, including digital. The scans are easy and flawless. As good as you can buy. ... show more

  • Great Film
This film is outstanding. It needs correct exposure, but hit it right and you get incredible colors and sharpness.
