Features

  • 5-Stage turbine produces 9.5Psi
  • Features the noise reduction feature + Heat Dissipation Chamber (HDC)
  • Professional spray gun features convenient side pattern control knob to adjust size of Fan pattern from small to large

Description

The MM5 PLATINUM system uses the most powerful 5-stage turbine on the market (same as the Q5 PLATINUM system). This system is recommended for those who want the extra power available. Included with this package is the Fuji T-75G non-bleed spray gun. Obtain a professional finish with all known coatings. The Fuji T-75G features a 600Cc gravity cup. The standard air cap set is the general purpose 3 (1.3 mm) for fine finishing with lacquers, enamels, polyurethanes, latex, water-based coatings and more. Easy to maintain. What's new in the Mini-Mite PLATINUM series the Fuji Spray Heat Dissipation Chamber: Fuji Spray has designed a unique method of removing any heat build-up from the turbine case. Excess heat is channeled to a Heat Dissipation Chamber located at the rear of the case. Because the hot air is dissipated evenly through an optimum surface area with 60 holes, there is no added hiss or loud whistling noise. There is also no blowing around of dust. The benefits of a cooler running unit results in a longer life for your turbine motor compared to standard turbines. Fuji Spray noise reduction covers: The Mini-Mite PLATINUM turbines are equipped with a method to reduce noise. The noise reduction covers house the filters. Ambient air is entrained only from the rear effectively removing any direct sound paths. Air is drawn in through a large rear aperture and through specially designed ‘finger slots' for optimum performance. The 5-stage turbine develops approximately 9.5 psi. Additional power allows the user to apply heavier coatings and thicker viscosity finishes faster and with less time spent on preparation of materials. Five bonus items included inside every Mini-Mite 5 PLATINUM package – 5 for 5 (6 ft. whip hose, wet film gauge, 19 pc. spray gun cleaning kit, extra turbine filters and always measure booklet – record your material preparation and results). This unit is for North American 120V plug only. For 220V capacity, please contact Fuji Spray directly.

  • Great paint spray system
Pattern Name: Pump Sprayer
I hadn’t used a spray gun in over 40 years until I bought this system. My first application was applying clear polyurethane to a set of floating shelves I made for a friend. They came out perfect. A much better finish than what you can get with a brush. The system was fairly straight forward to operate and the gun is easy to clean. I also purchased the 3M PPS 2 system cups and liners. I was missing 2 small screws for the spray gun holder that mounts to the turbine housing. I emailed Fuji and they sent replacements right out to me. Excellent customer service and product. I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • Great system. Takes some practice/experience/skill.
Pattern Name: Pump Sprayer
DIYer, with a habit of going down rabbit holes. Purchased to spray stain, hand apply glaze, and then spray conversion varnish on custom milled moldings to match commercially-manufactured cabinets. The cabinet manufacturer would not supply finished millwork in lengths longer than 10 feet, and I had a 14' stretch of crown that I had minimal hope of sufficiently hiding the appearance of a joint (because of client OCD haha and the room lighting and where it was, etc.). Another problem is that the stained wood I was trying to match was alder. And the stain is translucent white; highly pigmented, especially with the glaze step, but the base color of the brownish alder and wood grain affects the final appearance. Searched high and low for anyone to supply alder in rough boards longer than 10 feet. A local millwork manufacturer would do the shaping if I could find any because they could not source it. So I tried a bunch of other different suppliers, and every one of them was like, "no," immediately after I said I needed more than 10 foot sticks. My last ditch effort was to talk to a rep from Big Tree that seems to do the bulk of the harvesting in the northwest, and they were super friendly, but was told no such luck--this species is cut to 10 feet at the factory and bundled for distribution. Poplar, pine, oak, and maple were my final choices. Everyone's advice was to use maple. So I sprayed out some test boards, and found that because the maple is much lighter in color than alder, it ends up looking a bit too pink. OK, so about this spray system. I read a lot in various woodworking and paint forums. This brand and these sprayers are positioned at the pro-sumer and pro end and were almost always highly recommended. Some made it clear that, essentially, it takes some practice/experience/skill and with all the variables in play, it's not as easy to do as it looks. I think they are correct and those words sum it up. I purchased this 5-stage unit on Prime Day thinking I could grow into it for heavier coatings. It's great. No regrets. The learning curve for me, and my advice for a newbie includes: 0. RTFM (read the Fuji manual). Also find the tech data sheets for the stuff you are spraying. 1. Personal protection: eyes, nose, mouth, skin. Capture/filter overspray. Especially for solvent based stuff, it's no joke. 2. Practice on scrap; you might need to a lot more than you think. 3. Follow the viscosity guides. Use the correct reducers. Use the correct amount. Take the stain/coating manufacturer's advice seriously; if they say add up 5% MAK to increase saturation time, don't add 10% thinking "more must be better" because it will run or pool. 4. Don't put the needle into the sprayer and fully tighten the fluid control knob before installing the nozzle--you will deform the tip of the needle and/or the port of the nozzle. It will then leak, and you'll have to replace the whole set. 5. You can't spray very well sideways or upside down too long with the 3m PPS, particulaly if there isn't much volume left in the cup. Oh yeah, I really like the 3m PPS system. 6. It certainly seems you need the 5-stage unit and the biggest air cap set if you want to spray latex, especially if you want it to look good and don't want to compromise the sheen and toughness of the finished coating. On a small project I tried a 2.0 air cap set and thinned a bit over the recommendations of the paint manufacturer and it worked, but it only looks OK from 5 feet away and for a first attempt with latex I definitely wasn't happy with it. I purchased a 2.5 set and have yet to try it, but I expect it to be much better. I don't feel like this system would be a top choice for high volume latex projects. Getting back to the maple/alder. After some trial and error, I ended up first spraying an undertone of a very dilute dye stain onto the maple. The mixture I came up with was a base of 50/50 denatured alcohol and lacquer thinner. Added 5% dewaxed shellac and 0.2% water-soluble dye (I used 'coffee brown' from a certain dye manufacturer). The small amount of dewaxed shellac wouldn't seal the wood grain much, but would help lock in the dye so it wouldn't easily reactivate with the next coat (and wasn't going to interfere with the chemistry of the materials I was using). For this really thin undertone, I used a 1.0 air cap set. Using a 1.3 air cap set (that came with the sprayer), I sprayed the stain over that, and then a reduced CV coat for sealer. Hand glazed and wiped, and then sprayed a finish coat of CV. The result was outstanding. The molding I needed. The color I wanted. It would not have been possible for me to do without this sprayer. With practice and the right materials, you can achieve a highly professional result. That comes at an expen$e, of course. I looked at contracting a boutique cabinet manufacturer and a furniture repairer/restorer for what I needed. All in, my approach was cheaper (not by much...), even if I never touch this sprayer again. However, I immediately started looking for more projects to use it.... ... show more

  • Loving my new spray system!
Pattern Name: Pump Sprayer
I absolutely love this Mini Mite 5. I've only been spraying water-based poly so far (GF Enduro water-based), but for my use, the sprayer is working wonderfully. The Enduro finish sprays un-thinned and lays down really well. The gun feels great to use, has plenty of adjustability and control and is easy to dial in desired flow and pattern. I also added a 3M PPS2.0 cup (13.5 oz to make it easier to get into constrained spaces) and adapter. With this setup, it's easier to spray at awkward angles, and clean up is super easy - run water through the gun, a quick clean with a pipe brush at the fluid inlet, and disassembly to clean the tip and needle is quick and simple. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

  • Awesome Spray System
Pattern Name: Pump Sprayer
This is my first spray gun setup. I didnt want to blow a ton of money on a massive air compressor and everything required to spray that way, so i went with a turbine sprayer. So far i have used it to spray a 2oz sample of basecoat and epoxy primer and it did a fantastic job. Setup is super easy - hook up the hoses (make sure all your connections are nice and tight), attach your gun, turn it on and spray. I did initially have some questions about my setup as well because i decided to get the 3M PPS 2.0 system, and Fuji quickly got back to me and told me exactly what I needed to do - the t75g spray gun requires you to use the H/O cup with the PPS system. Additionally, the product itself just seems very well put together and the gun is very easy to clean. I thought all this spray gear was going to be daunting to learn how to use/clean/adjust, but the hardware has been very straightforward thanks to Fuji. Here is a photo of the epoxy primer i sprayed with this on a spare hood i had laying around. ... show more
