  • Great tub at a great price
Style: Cold Plunge Tub Only
The media could not be loaded. Ok, I’ve put together a cold plunge with a Frozin 400 tub and an active aqua 1/4 hp chiller. Along with filters and pipes, etc., the whole build cost $1950.00. I’d been using a cheap ($35 inflatable) tub from amazon. I made ice in our chest freezer. In the winter, when tap water was 50°, I could add the ice I made and get it to 46° or 45°. But once it warmed up out and the water temp went into the mid-sixties, I couldn’t keep up, ice-wise. Needing 45 pounds of ice to get to 45° was just not gonna work. I first started looking into a chiller to use with a cheap inflatable tub like I’d been using. I figured that since things tend to degrade over time, maybe I should get a stronger chiller than I “needed” so that if it started wearing out it would still get the water cold enough. I was thinking 1/2 horsepower. Then I had my thinking turned around: it was pointed out to me that if I had a sufficiently well insulated tub, the chiller wouldn’t need to work much at all, and I wouldn’t need a super strong one running all the time, wearing out and using power. I started looking into insulated tubs. This was when I discovered that cold plunges must be a pretty high-profit business. How much could a human-sized cooler cost, anyway? $500? Yeah, “LOL.” So, so much more. At first I was getting pretty sold on the Ice Barrel 500. But at $1600-ish dollars it seemed like a lot, and my basement (where the plunge would go) has low ceilings so something I have to step up and into could be a problem. I looked at complete systems with great insulation, like the Mod Tub 2, but holy smoke, $3300 before taxes? (Also, the idea of a tub with a lid and latches gives me, um, chills. As a friend of mine said, “that’s not an ice bath, that’s a murder machine”). A wealthy friend of mine sent me a link to the Morozko ice baths, which go up to like thirty-five thousand dollars. Hey, the 45° water is still just 45° water, spending more doesn’t make it somehow better water. I know a person can make their own insulated tub, but I am not that person, and I know it. So I was closing in on the Ice Barrel 500, when I came across the Frozin 400. It’s a 100-gallon cooler-shaped tub, with a lid that sits on top, has no hinges, and can be held down by included clips if you choose to install them (no). It’s made by “Rezvani” which I gather is a furniture maker who realized they could get into this market, undersell everyone, and still do pretty well. That’s my theory anyway. So I bought it. It arrived in like 3 days. So far I love this thing. Before I had a chiller set up I added water to it and put in ice to get it to 50 degrees. The next day the temp had only risen to 51. It really is insulated. And I was a bit concerned it would be like one of those styrofoam coolers and I’d be able to break it by leaning on it or something. Nope. It’s solid. I have zero concern about breaking it. AND it has well-positioned, metal-threaded ports for water in, water out, and drainage. I’m so happy to not have to drill. At this writing it’s all set up and used a few times and I’m happy with it, glad I didn’t spend $600 more on the Ice Barrel (though people seem to love it and think it’s worth the investment), and, at 6’1”, I can dunk my head underwater in it. Really seems like plenty of room. I don't know why you'd pay more, this tub is great. ... show more

  • Don’t Skimp on Cheap Units! Rock-Solid Chiller That Delivers Real Cold Therapy
Style: Cold Plunge Tub With Chiller
I couldn’t be happier with this purchase! The quality is top-notch, and the company went above and beyond—following up by text a few times to make sure I had everything set up correctly. That kind of service is rare these days. A co-worker of mine went with a cheaper chiller and it failed after just a few months, but mine has been running strong without a hiccup. This unit is built to last. Performance-wise, it’s impressive. It easily holds at 38°F (I can only last about three minutes at that temp!) and I’ve been loving it at 41°F, where I can comfortably stay in for about ten minutes. If you’re looking for reliability, durability, and serious cold, you can’t go wrong with this bad boy. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Definitely buy this now
Style: Cold Plunge Tub Only
UPDATE: I bought a 2nd tub, and connected a chiller that can do heat. So now I’ve got a hot tub and a cold plunge that I step directly into from my hot tub. The rubber latches for the lid that were recently added by Frozin are excellent. I assure you, I’ve done my research. This is the best insulated tub. Just DIY it with the chiller or get a chiller from these guys ///////// (previous review) - I’ve been obsessed with cold plunges for the past 18 months. I looked at all the options for tubs and ended up doing a DIY job with a 100 gallon rubbermaid stock tank and a chiller. Used some plywood, insulation, screws, hinges etc to make a container for the stock tank so it would be insulated during hot weather. My insulation wasn’t as effective as I would have liked, so I did a ton of research on insulated cold plunge tubs. There are a few reasonable ones out there, but the price was always beyond what I wanted to spend. I got a targeted ad on YouTube for this tub, and I ordered it. I’m 6’3”, 235 lbs with broad shoulders and I was skeptical about whether it’d be big enough. It’s totally big enough, insulation seems solid (not sure how to test/compare it but it seems like a big cooler, so I’m assuming it’s as good as the Grizzly 400), and the attachments are easy to set up with your own chiller if that’s the route you’re going. And the drain is a great feature. I called the company prior to buying it and they were totally accommodating and friendly and answered all my many questions. The only drawback to this tub is that the lid isn’t connected, no hinges or anything. But that’s the same as most of this product’s competitors. Overall: 5 stars, excellent product in the growing “cold therapy” market. ... show more

  • Best ice bath
Style: Cold Plunge Tub Only
My wife and I started doing ice baths about a month ago. About 2 weeks into using another brand ice bath, the pod busted so we started researching for a more permanent type ice bath. We came across this one and it seemed really great! It arrived earlier than expected which was great because we were missing our daily morning plunges. The quality is impeccable! We’ve used it for almost a week and we are impressed! It doesn’t leak, it stays cold for days, is very sturdy and roomy which is important because I am 6’1 and my wife is 5’9. The communication with this company is also excellent because they have texted to make sure we got it and that it meant all of our expectations… which it did and then some! We highly recommend this product and company! You will be obsessed with your ice baths with this product! ... show more

  • Great tub, cheapest price on the market.
Style: Cold Plunge Tub Only
Build quality of the tub seems really good. Customer service was great: very responsive to all of my questions. The tub is ready to hook up to any size chiller (I have the echo plus 1hp) with the 3/4" threaded holes. The insulation seems comparable to the other insulated tubs/coolers on the market. The only thing I might add is maybe a rubber seal/gasket on the lid to minimize any air circulation. ... show more
