Good product, if following the kind of instructions it is definitely not required to take off your fenders to install. Might need to make some trimming but not worth taking them off.

I ordered these thinking they would have better inner fender coverage than the inner fender liners I currently have. I was very disappointed to discover that these have almost the exact same inner fender coverage! These are definitely a budget friendly design. The construction is very heavy duty. Both in feel and weight. The steel is about 1/8 to maybe 3/32 of an inch thick. They come packaged in a thick plastic, with a little foam, that insures they do not get scratched up during shipping. The American flag that is cut into the front portion of the inner fender liner looks outstanding. The hardware and the mounting method for these inner fender liners is a total miss in my opinion. The hardware for the fenders is silver. The kit consists of silver Allen head cap screws for the fenders and two massive looking black bolts for the “no drill” bracket that secures the back portion of the inner fender liner to your jeeps fender hardware. I really don’t like this set up. I don’t like the idea of sliver hardware with black inner fender liners. I do like the idea of not drilling holes into my Jeep in order to mount these. However, the execution of this no drill mounting seems like an afterthought with this item. It’s the one thing that has been keeping me from mounting these. The no drill mount set up and the weight of these inner fender liners are the two biggest complaints I have with these. The units I currently have are made of aluminum and are probably a quarter of the weight of these units. I’ll probably never have to worry about corrosion with my current inner fender liners. With these units being steel I’ll have to watch out for rust. These do have a very thick powder coat looking finish that I’m sure will inhibit rust. However, I tend to drive on the beach a lot and am sure that salty sandblasting from that type of off-roading will test this paint out in no time. Back to the mounting. I have after market fenders on my Jeep that I installed with black cap screws and lock nuts. Using my fat fingers to accomplish this was not easy. I’d have to undo some of my fender fasteners in order to mount these. For this reason I’ll probably NOT mount these. That and the fact that they are substantially heavier than my current set. I will say the instructions that come with these are pretty good. They seem to detail the installation process very well and have fairly good color photos of pretty much every step. If you are the type of person that doesn’t want to drill into their Jeep, loves showing off a little patriotic touch, and is in need of a budget friendly steel inner fender liner; then these units are for you. I will unfortunately have to pass on using these because they aren’t any better than what I already have. I was looking for more inner fender coverage. Seems all the budget friendly inner fender liners in the market leave the rear inner fender area of the wheel well exposed to the elements.

Replacing flimsy, torn factory plastic liners with heavy-gauge steel makes an immediate difference in shielding vulnerable wiring harnesses and engine bay components from kicked-up gravel, mud, and trail branches. The black powder-coat finish holds up well against surface rust and minor rock strikes, while the vented star cutouts give the wheel wells an aggressive, clean look without compromising protective coverage. The bolt-on design lines up reasonably well with existing factory mounting locations on the JK/JKU chassis, though like most aftermarket armor, keeping all the hardware loosely threaded until every single bolt is started will save you a lot of muscle work and headache during alignment. A few holes may require a quick touch with a step bit or round file depending on your rig's specific front-end setup, but once torqued down, they eliminate the annoying highway flutter of plastic liners and provide plenty of clearance for larger off-road rubber.

I have used several different types of inner fenders as we have two Jeeps. I have had two piece and single piece inner fender but they have always been made of aluminum. I feel these are much more durable and yet they still fit perfectly. Installation was not really different from the others, they went in really easily. I appreciate the appearance of these are they look great and have much less flex than the aluminum option. I have paid more than double the price of these in other fenders but I think I like these more as you get way more value for the money. The only issue I see with these, and it makes sense, are that these are much heavier than the aluminum option so if weight is a condiseration these may require a little closer look. Great product.
