This helmet is cute, but it's very thin & probably not the best at protecting your head. That being said, it's lightweight, fashionable, & I will use it. It runs large, so I had to return it for the smaller size.

I'm from the old school when you didn't wear a helmet riding bikes/scooters but then again drivers weren't out to try and kill you when you did ride back then. Hence the purchase of the helmet. I personally do not like the style of bike helmets so I wanted one that looked more like a hat and this works perfectly. Helmet has a nice leather like feel, is lightweight and fits my head with a scarf on. The strap adjustment was a bit tricky but I finally got it to fit firmly. The padding is comfortable and didn't make me sweat during use. I haven't fallen with it on so I'm not sure how well it will protect you head but the inner shell is similar to that of the hard hat baseball helmets so I know they can take a ball being hurled at about 80 to 100 mph, I'm pretty confident it can handle a topple off a scooter going 20 mph... I personally don't want to find out... Lol. Overall item is well made and I believe it is a good purchase. UPDATE : JULY 16, 2021 Fell off my scooter on June 15th face down. Helmet took front fall pretty well (front of rim is scrapped up but my head is OK... My hands and knees are jacked up but my head is A - OK👌🏾) Glad to know the helmet works. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. A REAL helmet has three layers. The outer shell (for looks), the soft foam (for comfort) and the hard protective foam to absorb energy during a collision. THIS hat has the outer shell for looks, and the soft foam for comfort, but it DOES NOT have a protective layer! If you need something to fool your mom into thinking you've got a helmet, I guess this might work, but if you want something that will protect your head in an accident? Nope. I have had the same traditional cycling helmet for over 15 years and decided it was beyond time to get a new one. I really liked the looks of the "ball cap" design. After measuring my head and selecting the size, the order shipped on time and no issues with delivery. The problem is the helmet runs a little small. The other issue is it lacks ventilation so the sponge like lining gets saturated pretty quickly if you are much of a sweater. I am tempted to drill a few vent holes in it but figure that would compromise the impact resistance. Otherwise a nice addition to my cycling accessories. ... show more
