Description

Dentists recommend kicking the paci habit by the time baby is 12 months old. We've got the weaning process down to a science (literally!) with this 5-step system to ditch the pacifier for good. Each paci is progressively shorter - and less satisfying - so baby gives that binky the boot. No kitchen scissors required! Wash before use

  • Absolutely worth a shot
Size: 5 Count (Pack of 1)
I was so anxious about weaning my 23 month old off the pacifier. He has used it religiously for sleep for his whole life. It’s really been his only comfort as he normally doesn’t care for rocking or loveys. He’s always slept with two pacifiers because he wants one in his mouth and one in his hand. We didn’t fully follow the directions because the pacis he always used were a totally different kind than these are and we gave two at a time. Shockingly, it worked great! He used all of them. He cried for only a few minutes when we got to #3 and #4. No crying for #5, he mostly wanted to hold it in his hand. After a few nights we took it away with no problem. I expected hours of crying for many nights and he barely cried at all. I am so pleasantly surprised at how well this worked for our paci obsessed boy! Would definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Just buy it!
Size: 5 Count (Pack of 1)
This is probably the first review of a product I’ve ever wrote. But I just to say that this worked AMAZING for my almost 3 year old to wean her off of the binky. She was very attached to it. If a binky was lying around anywhere, it would be in her mouth. I tried limiting to nap and bedtime as much as possible but it was honestly used much more than that. I followed the instructions on the product and used the binky according to the amount of days it said.. when we got to #5, that’s when I let her know the binky fairy was coming that night. She set it on her nightstand and there has been no more use of any kind of binky since! We also exclusively used only the NUK brand before trying this weaning kit and she took to these with no issue at all. If you are on the fence, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy! ... show more

  • Just give them a shot! You won't regret it!
Size: 5 Count (Pack of 1)
I'm gonna be honest, I really was not sure about these. I have a three year old and a one and a half year old. My three year old was ATTACHED to her binky. I tried many different things from the binky fairy to cutting the tips of the binky off to cold turkeying it. Nothing worked with my three year old, and with it being hard to get her off of it, it made it that much more difficult with my one and a half year old. The first thing I did was get them binkies that had more of an alike shape to these weaning ones. I knew if I tried switching from their mam binkies, it never would have worked. The hardest out of all the numbers wasn't even them, it was switching to the binky with an alike nipple. I switched each one while they were asleep, so it was already in their mouths when they woke up. My daughter was very upset about the change in nipple shape, I mean screaming, crying, calling out for her old binky. Without even thinking, I somehow came up with the story that binky was going through growth spurts like she does. With that, she decided to give the new shape a try. I kept them on that binky for two weeks before trying the weaning kit. When I switched to number one, both didn't even notice at first until midday I heard my daughter holler, "binky changed colors!!" I got all excited for her and said, "Oh my gosh! Binky had another growth spurt!!" It kept the experience optimistic for her and something to look forward to. We kept them on number one for two weeks and then I made the change to number two. It was the same experience again, they did not notice until about midday and then I'd hear the excited, "Binky changed colors again!! Yay!!" However, I made the switch every three days instead to avoid them getting too used to that number. As we got to number 3, I noticed both my kids barely asking for binky. It was really only desired for sleep time and if they were super upset. They even would fall asleep for nap time without them. My one and a half year old gave binky up at number 4, saying, "Eww!!" when I tried to give him binky. I still switched binky to number 5 for both, so to my daughter it appeared that both were still having growth spurts. Switching to 5 for my three year old was hard, but it was a bittersweet moment. She came to me in the middle of the night upset that she couldn't hold binky in her mouth anymore. I told her that binky was finally all grown up, and we should celebrate. The next day we had cookies in celebration. She still asked for binky for a couple of days, and we allowed her to carry number 5 around to reassure her that binky was all grown up. Eventually (within two days), she stopped asking for it and I discreetly put it away for good. She did not ask about binky again until a week later. I reminded her that binky was all grown up and off to bigger and more exciting things in life. That answer seemed to please her and she has been good for a month now. I never thought we would get her weaned off, but honestly these worked magic, especially with our fun little story to them. I will forever recommend these to anybody. ... show more

  • It works if you hold your ground
Size: 5 Count (Pack of 1)
We had delayed weaning my son from his binky due to so many life changes back to back. So we found him still attached to it at 3 years old. He used to cry if he lost it during the night and would absolutely not sleep without it. However my husband noticed that he started only using it at the beginning of the night, so we knew he was ready to sleep without it. I had told him that his binky was about to go through some changes now that he’s older. I explained how it’ll get smaller and the numbers will get bigger. He was actually super excited about his new binkies. That first night he did great, but he fought us the following night and nap time, begging for his old one. We held the boundary and he was kinda grumpy for a few days. But then he started insisting we give him the next number binky. He had asked for number 4 one night and he’s not mentioned it again since. So we went from meltdown to binky free in less than a week! These definitely work if you can hold your ground! ... show more

  • Surprisingly effective!
Size: 5 Count (Pack of 1)
Our 2 1/2 year old began getting more attached to his binky instead of less attached so I decided it was time to intervene. I decided to give these a try and was shocked how quickly it worked. We only made it to step 1 when he decided he didn’t want it. He knew right away something wasn’t right but moved on quickly. If your like me & know your child will cry and cry for their binky and don’t have the heart to take it from them i really recommend trying these! I felt better about it because it was his decision if he wanted it or not. Only reason im giving 4 stars and not 5 is because they’re basically just binkys that are cut shorter and shorter so for the price im sure you could make your own at home. Although this option is probably safer but wanted to note that anyways. We’re now on day 3 of no binky and he stopped asking for it all together. I’m shocked because 500 times a day he would beg me for his regular one before giving him this instead. If you’re on the fence just go for it! Much cheaper than braces in the long run. ... show more

  • Amazed!!
Size: 5 Count (Pack of 1)
Okay.. we’ve been DREADING losing the binky. We tried cold turkey 3 times & we tried making our own holes (pain in the butt to puncture it the right amount). My 2 year old doesn’t give 2 craps about a “binky fairy”. In fear for messing up her teeth, wanting her to learn self soothing, tired of making sure we have a binky everywhere, you name it. I bought this on a whim out of desperation. I wish I would’ve done this a year ago!! I was losing hope with our daughter’s resilience and attachment to a bink. Day 1: she was mad about it for sure, took her about an hour or so to finally fall asleep after some tantrums, multiple night wakings for the next few days. By day 3, we moved to step 2. Night wakings slowed by day 4. Day 6: moved to step 3. No wake-up in the night. We are now day 7 & I realized she hasn’t asked for one the past couple of days. I took the opportunity to try step 4, which seemed like a more dramatic shift. She wasn’t happy and cried on/off for about 10 min. She ended up falling asleep with it just in her hand. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. The directions say for 1-2 days but knowing our kiddo we started with 3 days. I tried to not go past that because I didn’t want her getting too used to it before we shifted to the next step. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUT PLEASE PREPARE THAT THERE STILL WILL BE A STRUGGLE WITH SOME KIDDOS. STAY STRONG, PATIENT, AND CONSISTENT. ... show more

  • Didn’t Work for Us, But May Be Helpful for Other Toddlers
Size: 5 Count (Pack of 1)
I decided to try this system to help wean my child off the pacifier around 1.5 years old, as I noticed my child's teeth starting to shift from prolonged use. I hoped this would help make the transition smoother and allow me to get a bit more sleep at night, rather than going cold turkey and removing it all at once. Unfortunately, my child wouldn’t even take the first #1 paci, despite my research on its compatibility with other brands. I spent over $15 on the system, only to find that it didn’t work for us. That being said, every baby is different, and I’m sure this might be a helpful tool for some toddlers. Since it didn’t work for us, I’m giving it 3 stars, but if you're willing to give it a try, it may work better for your child than it did for mine. ... show more

  • Worked great for us!
Size: 5 Count (Pack of 1)
I bought these as a last resort before taking the paci from my three year old cold turkey and they worked SO WELL! My son has only used the paci for sleeping since he was 1 but was very attached to it and would ask for it constantly. We took longer to go through the “steps” and let him keep each one for about a week. It still only took a month and he is completely done with pacis! And the transition to each new one was a lot smoother than I expected. I honestly didn’t think these would work for him and I’m so relieved that they did. ... show more
