Description

Dentists recommend kicking the paci habit by the time baby is 12 months old. We've got the weaning process down to a science (literally!) with this 5-step system to ditch the pacifier for good. Each paci is progressively shorter - and less satisfying - so baby gives that binky the boot. No kitchen scissors required! Wash before use

  • It worked!!!
My son (2years 9 months) wasn’t even close to give up his binky during the night and day nap. From the beginning we used orthodontic pacifier for him. When I saw this set I decided to give it a try because the binky situation was getting out of control (he would wake up in the middle of the night several times because he lost his pacifier somewhere in the bed during the sleep). So we actually got through all 5 stages. I kept each stage a bit longer than recommended. ( instead of 1-2 nights, I kept 3-4) stage 4 was present for 4 nights. The last one though, as soon as my son saw the 5 stage, he gave me a suspicious look and said that he doesn’t want it anymore. And just like that he is no longer sleeps with his binky. Numbers on the binky can also help to entertain with some stories, such as “pacifier is growing, from 1 to 2, from 2 to 3 etc. My son couldn’t wait to see pacifier’s new “birthday”. Just like that, with no tears, no hard feelings, and no psychological trauma - my son, who was sooo in love with his binky, turn his back on it once it turned five! Will recommend for weaning from orthodontic pacifier. ... show more

  • It works! My daughter doesn't ask for her paci anymore.
I'm not one to write reviews of products often, but for this one, I must. It works!! What a godsend. My daughter, up until last month, was using her pacifier just for naptime and bedtime. She's a little under 2. Each night she'd ask for her "paci" and so my husband and I were worried to just go cold turkey and eliminate her paci. This saved the day. We introduced it and I could tell my daughter noticed a difference and she did keep asking for her paci and was a bit fussy when we didn't give her her regular one however, I would say by stage 4, she lost interest. And stage 5, forget it. There's practically nothing there. She's been paci-free for a month now and doesn't talk about it anymore. Amazing! Thank you Frida brand!! The snotsucker is also a gamechanger! ... show more

  • Just give them a shot! You won't regret it!
I'm gonna be honest, I really was not sure about these. I have a three year old and a one and a half year old. My three year old was ATTACHED to her binky. I tried many different things from the binky fairy to cutting the tips of the binky off to cold turkeying it. Nothing worked with my three year old, and with it being hard to get her off of it, it made it that much more difficult with my one and a half year old. The first thing I did was get them binkies that had more of an alike shape to these weaning ones. I knew if I tried switching from their mam binkies, it never would have worked. The hardest out of all the numbers wasn't even them, it was switching to the binky with an alike nipple. I switched each one while they were asleep, so it was already in their mouths when they woke up. My daughter was very upset about the change in nipple shape, I mean screaming, crying, calling out for her old binky. Without even thinking, I somehow came up with the story that binky was going through growth spurts like she does. With that, she decided to give the new shape a try. I kept them on that binky for two weeks before trying the weaning kit. When I switched to number one, both didn't even notice at first until midday I heard my daughter holler, "binky changed colors!!" I got all excited for her and said, "Oh my gosh! Binky had another growth spurt!!" It kept the experience optimistic for her and something to look forward to. We kept them on number one for two weeks and then I made the change to number two. It was the same experience again, they did not notice until about midday and then I'd hear the excited, "Binky changed colors again!! Yay!!" However, I made the switch every three days instead to avoid them getting too used to that number. As we got to number 3, I noticed both my kids barely asking for binky. It was really only desired for sleep time and if they were super upset. They even would fall asleep for nap time without them. My one and a half year old gave binky up at number 4, saying, "Eww!!" when I tried to give him binky. I still switched binky to number 5 for both, so to my daughter it appeared that both were still having growth spurts. Switching to 5 for my three year old was hard, but it was a bittersweet moment. She came to me in the middle of the night upset that she couldn't hold binky in her mouth anymore. I told her that binky was finally all grown up, and we should celebrate. The next day we had cookies in celebration. She still asked for binky for a couple of days, and we allowed her to carry number 5 around to reassure her that binky was all grown up. Eventually (within two days), she stopped asking for it and I discreetly put it away for good. She did not ask about binky again until a week later. I reminded her that binky was all grown up and off to bigger and more exciting things in life. That answer seemed to please her and she has been good for a month now. I never thought we would get her weaned off, but honestly these worked magic, especially with our fun little story to them. I will forever recommend these to anybody. ... show more

  • No more pacifiers.
We didn't really get to 2. We had another type of pacifier which we cut a hole in it. But our kid was using their finger to plug it lol. This one you couldn't. I almost feel like our kid went through withdrawal. Our kiddo didn't care for these pacifiers. I read the comments before purchasing. And came back to the comments after purchase. Just don't give up. It's going to be rough. I'm sure kids just think the pacifiers are broken lol. I took off work to make sure my kid was comfortable. It was rough the first two nights. Now, just sleeping like a baby. My kid is 13 months old. No more pacifiers. ... show more

  • Worked on 1st step of kit.
This worked for our 18 month old who LOVED his pacifier. To be honest, we loved his pacifier too since it gave him all the soothing he needed but we knew this couldn't be forever. After much research and debate I opted for this because it would help me not feel like the bad guy. My son on the 1st step did not like it, and he kept saying it was "bad", when he would ask for another one I said that's all I have. He went one night without it, and now we're on night 2 and he didn't even ask for it. I haven't had to move into the other steps thankfully. ... show more

  • It worked… but not the way it was intended to work
I was really excited to try these for my 17 month old after seeing so many great reviews! But as soon as I gave him the first one he knew. He was pissed but I managed to get him to sleep after 30 minutes. He woke up a couple times during the night crying and I had to help him go back to sleep. Felt like the newborn phase all over again! He never got used to any of them.. I must have used the first one for like 4 days before tying the rest. Never got to the third one. My partner and mother insisted that I keep trying and staying strong. And after 10 long painful nights of letting him cry it out (for 5-10 minutes) he learned how to fall asleep without a pacifier. So to all mamas out there, stay strong. Don’t give in. ... show more
