Description

8" 34T Premier Fusion General Purpose Blade Equally suited to ripping and crosscutting, the versatile 8-inch Freud P408 Premier Fusion Saw Blade delivers clean finishes in a wide variety of materials. Thanks to a rigid, laser-cut, anti-vibration body, Freud's Perma- SHIELD coating, and a design that fuses Hi-ATB teeth with a unique side-grind geometry, it smoothes surfaces as you cut them.Side-grind, Hi-ATB Teeth for Exceptional Versatility This Premiere Fusion blade makes big projects more efficient by allowing you to move from start to finish without changing blades or sacrificing precision. The blade's configuration fuses 30-degree, Hi-ATB teeth with Freud's double-side-grind tooth geometry. Whether you're working with hard- or softwood, this design provides a smooth side finish while crosscutting and while ripping. It also delivers flawless, chip-free finishes on the top side and the bottom side when working with hard-to-handle materials like double-sided laminate, veneered plywood, or melamine. This high-tech Fusion blade's ideal working range when ripping includes materials that range from 3/8 to 1-1/2 inches thick. When crosscutting, its ideal range includes materials that are 3/4 to 3-1/2 inches thick. It has a 5/8-inch arbor and produces a 0.126 kerf.Unique Polymer Filler for Superior, Anti-Vibration Design Like all Freud blades, this Fusion blade is precision balanced and pretensioned for truer cuts under heavy loads. However, its unique design takes Freud's standard laser-cut, anti-vibration slots to the next level. Paired with a specially formulated polymer filler, these slots reduce side-to- side movement for cleaner finishes, longer blade life, and reduced noise while you work. And because the entire blade is laser cut from high-strength steel, you can trust that it will stay stable, flat, and true, even after prolonged use.High-Density Carbide for Maximum Cutting Performance This Fusion blade's 34 teeth are finished with tips made from Freud's application-specific TiCo carbide. The TiCo blend used in Fusion Series blades offers a mix of density, hardness, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and impact resistance that's ideally matched to the varied demands placed on a multi-use blade. With teeth that start out sharper and deliver improved edge retention, the blade can go longer between sharpening, and will hold up longer--saving you time and money.Perma-SHIELD Coating Reduces Friction and Heat Buildup Built to withstand tough use in less-than-ideal conditions, this blade is finished with Freud's red Perma-SHIELD--a non-stick coating that reduces friction and nearly eliminates the heat buildup that excess friction can cause. By providing complete thermal insulation, this coating protects your tools and your work surface. And it resists binding when the blade is used for large-volume cutting applications, which reduces blade warp.As a lubricating feature, Perma-SHIELD allows the blade to spin freely while reducing stress on the motor and carriage of your saw. In addition, this coating helps prevent debris collection and resin or "pitch" buildup. Since gummy pitch buildup causes extra drag on the motor of your saw, less buildup is another little convenience that translates into longer tool life and longer blade life. It also means less downtime for blade cleaning, so you get jobs done faster. This industrial saw blade is backed by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.About Freud: A History of Innovative Manufacturing An industry leader for more than 50 years, Freud America, Inc. is a manufacturer and marketer of superior carbide cutting tools for the woodworking industry. • Great Blade. You may still need a rip blade for hardwood
Pattern Name: Blade Style: 10-Inch by 40-Teeth 30-Degree Hi-ATB Pre...
I replaced my old Freud combination blade with this upgraded one. Given the old blade lasted as long as it did, I was happy to pay a little more for the fancier one. Freud has never done me wrong. Blades last for YEARS, but my shop isn't a daily use shop by any means. This blade works as advertised. Very clean cuts. But unfortunately, it won't work for everything. I was hoping it would get me through a balustrade project with 5/4 red oak but I couldn't use it to rip without getting burn marks (using my 1.5hp 230v saw). I had to run out and buy a $30 24 tooth Diablo rip blade from HD and that solved the problem. So for a complete setup for finer woodworking, that's a $100 proposition. One alternative: For years I've considered getting the relatively pricey Forrest Wood Worker ll blade, where some users say it really can do it all. Not sure if that's true or not, and It's even pricier now. But if I could get confirmation that it could rip something like the 5/4 oak with no burn, then I would definitely just buy that blade. So you may want to research that yourself. I need think kerf only for my saw and I think they offer that now as well (I seem to recall that years ago there wasn't a thin kerf?). ... show more

  • Great blade for hardwood

I bought this blade after watching a video on the best blade for ripping hardwoods. Yes folks, this blade is worth the money.

  • Best thin kerf saw blade for the money
Pattern Name: Blade Style: 10-Inch by 40-Teeth 30-Degree Hi-ATB Pre...
Great value, both splinter free entrance and exit. If you observe any burning, clean off any resin build up.

  • Cuts very nice and reasonabley smooth
Pattern Name: Blade Style: 10-Inch by 40-Teeth 30-Degree Hi-ATB Pre...
Cuts very nice and reasonably smooth. Better than other good blades I use, but The reviews lead me to believe it would do an even better job at cutting without leaving saw marks. One pass on the jointer or a brief pass with the sander cleans them up most of the time. Too soon to comment on longevity. ... show more

  • Freud is WORTH it!
Pattern Name: Blade Style: 10-Inch by 40-Teeth 30-Degree Hi-ATB Pre...
I bought this blade for my table saw, and I have done everything imaginable with it. The tooth pattern doesn't leave a flat kerf, but for your general purpose every day use? I've got nothing but good things to say about it. It cuts great, it's stayed crazy sharp. This is a great saw blade for the price. If you're like me, you might be wondering if it's really worth it to spend that extra money on Freud instead of Diablo. Which isn't a bad argument, especially in '22. I had the same questions and finally pulled the trigger and there's no comparison! You can see in my picture and get an idea of what I noticed before anything else and it was the teeth, no they're not the same blade but the 12 inch Diablo blade had nowhere near the steel to resharpen that the 10 inch Freud has. Seriously Diablo probably has half the teeth, and despite having always had good results it was nowhere close to as sharp as the Freud. If you're wondering about making the jump...Do it! Freud is completely worth it, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. I know I'm already moving to Freud for my miter saw's blade as soon as necessary. ... show more

  • Amazing! Really lets your saw work to its potential
Pattern Name: Blade Style: 10-Inch by 40-Teeth 30-Degree Hi-ATB Pre...
This is the first time I have ever wrote a review about any products but I was so impressed about this blade I had to pay homage. I recently purchase a new saw and tried using the factory blade even though I had already ordered this blade knowing I wanted more than what a factory blade would offer. The comparison was night and day. The saw even ran quieter (subjectively). I have already cut a variety of different materials and thickness with no significant problem. I ripped and cross cut 1/8" birch ply with no tear out, Ripped and crosscut 1"x12" red oak again beautifully, 3/4" ply same thing and even for the heck of it a 2x4 in any direction and angle I could think of to test out this product. For comparison purposes I did the same with the factory blade as well. The results spoke for itself. I have a lower powered saw and went with the thin Kerf option not only to waist less material but to decrease the work for the saw. This was only slightly noticeable to my standards. The only gripe about this blade was I had very minimal burning to my oak as well as the 1/8" ply but not bad at all. I think it comes down to knowing how fast to feed the material and getting used to my new saw/ sawblade. All in all great product to really go the next step. good clean cuts with no tear out. ready to glue material and no sanding needed. My close friend tried out the new blade and saw the side by side comparison and ordered this blade once he got home. He is amazed with it too. Who ever thought a saw blade could get you excited about how great it cuts something? Highly recommended ... show more

  • Crazy sharp
Pattern Name: Blade Style: 10-Inch by 40-Teeth 30-Degree Hi-ATB Pre...
This blade (Freud P410T: 10" Thin Kerf Next Generation Premier Fusion General Purpose Blade) seems to be the best bang for the buck. It's crazy sharp, very accurate and cuts like a dream. However it does leave a slight red residue on some of the maple I worked with along with some minor burning but I've only noticed this on hard maple. That being said it is easy enough sand out. ... show more

  • Wow, impressive blade
Pattern Name: Blade Style: 10-Inch by 40-Teeth 30-Degree Hi-ATB Pre...
I have tons of blades of all configurations and tooth amounts and I didn't know what to expect from this one. Well, I have to say it's an impressive blade. It cuts like butter through anything I put through it and gives a glass smooth finish to the edges. I highly recommend this one. It seems the angle of the teeth being 30 degrees really makes a difference. I even cut 1/4" acrylic with it and get perfect results with no chipping or problems. It's a "gotta have " blade for any woodworker. ... show more
