Description

12" x 80T Thin Kerf Fine Finish Crosscut Blade The 12-inch Freud LU88R012 Thin Kerf Fine Finish Crosscut Saw Blade delivers quick, smooth crosscuts in hard- and softwoods and moldings--even when you're using an underpowered saw. Its alternating top bevel teeth feature thick TiCo high-density carbide tips designed to last. And thanks to Freud's Perma-SHIELD coating, which reduces friction to prevent heat buildup, it pulls less than traditional blades and allows for more powerful cutting.LU88R012 Thin Kerf Fine Finish Crosscut Saw BladeAt a Glance: Ideal for crosscutting hard- or softwood that's 1/2 to 2-3/4 inches thickHeavy-duty plate with laser-cut, anti-vibration slotsTough Perma-SHIELD coating reduces friction and heat buildupTechnical Specs:CoatingPerma-SHIELDDiameter12"Teeth80 ATBArbor1"Kerf (K).094Plate (P).071Depth of Cut Thin Kerf reduces waste and feeds easierPositive Hook Angle produce a smoother cut and allow for a faster feed rateThin-Kerf and ATB Teeth for Fine Finishes with Underpowered Saws A versatile blade that delivers the fine finish you need for decorative moldings and other precision work, this thin-kerf crosscut saw blade offers a configuration with 80 alternating-top-bevel (ATB) teeth and positive hook angles. This means it provides you with smoother cuts, and it can handle fast feed rates. It's ideal for crosscutting hard- or softwoods that are 1/2 to 2-3/4 inches thick, and it also provides good results when cutting plywood and chipboard or when ripping wood. The blade can also handle laminate, and it can tackle thinner or thicker materials. However, some loss of surface finish may occur when it is used outside its ideal range. It has a 1-inch arbor and produces a 0.094 kerf.Plus, because this thin-kerf blade removes less material than standard carbide blades, it wastes less material and requires less horsepower to produce smooth, clean results.Well-Balanced, Anti-Vibration Design This Freud blade is precision balanced and pretensioned for truer cuts under heavy loads. It also features laser-cut, anti-vibration slots that reduce chatter for a cleaner finish, longer blade life, and reduced noise while you work. And because the entire blade is laser cut from high-strength steel, you can trust that it will stay stable, flat, and true, even after prolonged use.High-Density Carbide for Maximum Cutting Performance This crosscutting saw blade's 80 teeth are finished with tips made from Freud's application-specific TiCo high-density carbide "crosscut blend." Formulated to help the blade maintain a sharp cutting edge in the face of demanding crosscut applications, this blend is extra hard--due to including more high-density tungsten carbide than other TiCo blends--and it still offers the full mix of improved corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and impact resistance that you expect from TiCo.With teeth that start out sharper and deliver improved edge retention, the blade can go longer between sharpening, and will hold up longer --saving you time and money.Perma-SHIELD Coating Reduces Friction and Heat Buildup Built to withstand tough use in less-than-ideal conditions, this blade is finished with Freud's red Perma-SHIELD--a non-stick coating that reduces friction and nearly eliminates the heat buildup that excess friction can cause. By providing complete thermal insulation, this coating protects your tools and your work surface. And it resists binding when the blade is used for large-volume cutting applications, which reduces blade warp.As a lubricating feature, Perma-SHIELD allows the blade to spin freely while reducing stress on the motor and carriage of your saw. In addition, this coating helps prevent debris collection and resin or "pitch" buildup. Since gummy pitch buildup causes extra drag on the motor of your saw, less buildup is another little convenience that translates into longer tool life and longer blade life. It also means less downtime for blade cleaning, so you get jobs done faster. This industrial saw blade is backed by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.About Freud: A History of Innovative Manufacturing An industry leader for more than 50 years, Freud America, Inc. is a manufacturer and marketer of superior carbide cutting tools for the woodworking industry. Features Freud's TiCo Hi-Density Carbide with Titanium for long life and a flawless finish. • What A Difference
Style: 9-Inch 54 Tooth ATB Thin Kerf Crosscutti... Pattern Name: Blade
I got this Freud LU88R009 blade for my Craftsman 9 inch radial arm saw from 1972 after reading positive reviews here on Amazon. I got the saw for free about 8 years ago and never set it up until recently. It came with 3 blades. The first 2 blades smoked my garage out and the 3rd one (which was never used before me) cuts without burning but the cut is not very clean. So now I start looking for 9 inch blades. It wasn't as easy as I thought since no one really carries 9 inch blades anymore. Thankfully there are some companies that still make them and Amazon carries them. I chose this Freud blade for price and versatility. The blade crosscuts so much better than what I had and is incredibly quiet compared to the old Craftsman Chisel Tooth hss blade that was in there. It leaves a very clean cut with an almost shiny surface in the hard maple I've been working with. This blade, for me anyway, still leaves a tiny bit of tear out on the bottom of the cut and some circular marks on the cutting surface but it's so much better than what I had and the tear out is so minimal that it cleans right up with a couple strokes of 150 grit sandpaper. Of course, some of that could be my technique and learning curve with this machine. If you get this blade for a RAS be prepared for it to pull aggressively through the cut. It may catch you by surprise. I also made some small rip cuts with this blade the results were just as good, if not better, than the crosscuts. This is not to say that it should be used this way as I don't think that was the manufacturers intention but it does do a great job. I will eventually get the LU87R009 for ripping so I can have the best of both. These will definitely be my go to blade for important cuts while I can still use that old Craftsman blade for junk cuts so I can enjoy the pleasure of the Freud blade for a long time. ... show more

  • Top Quality blade!
Style: Industrial Thin Kerf Fine Finish Crosscu... Pattern Name: Blade
Excellent blade! Kerf thickness is just right to get a glass smooth crosscut in hardwoods and not put excessive load on the saw motor. I purchased this as a back up blade for when my Forrest chopmaster is out being sharpened. I have to say this blade is EVERY bit as good as the Foreset and about $60.00 less. I have made it through two cabinet jobs so far, 23 cabinets made of hard maple on one job and 34 cabinets made of red oak on the other and this blade is still cutting like new. Whether you are a professional like me or a weekend warrior looking for a cut above, I would highly recommend this blade! ... show more

Ok this muther of a bad boy has been sitting in my Citadel for a few weeks now...just waiting for that Festool HK85 that’s sposed to get here from good ol Italy any day now( he...just got it now that this blade is also from Italy...well waddya know???? πŸ€¦πŸ½β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸ»β™€οΈπŸ˜œπŸ˜œπŸ˜œπŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£) ...so I’m simply D.I.Y.ing (🀣🀣🀣🀣) to try it out on that big ol Demon Of A Saw ... now there might be some issues cause a Freud/Diablo blade ain’t sposed to go on this specific 9” Festool Saw( which for some strange reason ain’t available on the US market) , the HK85’s riving knife is more or less specifically tailored for Festool Blades, or vice versa , but you get the picture. Which means a 2.5mm max kerf width I think, and a 1.8mm blade width... or is it 2.5mm and 3.2... for that ol river to work at gettin those kickbacks down to a minimum and all...but according to the specs in On the package i think they’ll be ok... And the bore will need enlarging as well... Cmon now when’s that Saw gettin here?!? I can’t wait so long !!!get me that Saw already!!!
