  • It’s a Diablo saw it’s built better and will stay sharper longer

It’s a Diablo saw blade I think they are best saw blade on market

  • Just buy it!
Size: One Size
Let me start by saying I don't normally write reviews, mostly just to warn of a bad product (which isn't often as I read reviews before buying pretty much anything). So I've been eye-balling this blade for some time. All the reviews looked good, reasonably priced, but.. When I bought my saw used it came with 3-4 new blades. Granted these were the $10 discount hardware blades, but a new blade is a new blade right? Wrong. So don't waste anymore time, like STOP reading this review and buy it now, then come back and finish reading the review to get all excited for your new blade to get there. Okay, now that you bought it I'll tell you my experience with it. I like to work with pallet word (yes I'm cheap, I was using a $10 blade remember?). I've found some really nice pieces in pallet wood, especially when you can find good hardwood pallets. So I'm working on this project and I notice that my saw seems to be struggling when I'm ripping some oak stringers that are just over an inch think. Now I have an older delta contractors saw with a 3hp motor, not underpowered you could say, but she was struggling nonetheless. Besides that, the cut edge is just black, not exactly the look I was going for and glueline ready? I wish. Even with some 1/2 inch hardwood slats I was ripping I would get burnt edges, even pine would get burnt edges sometimes (but a $25 dollar blade isn't that much better than a $10 blade right?) Fast forward to getting my new blade. Took the old blade out, cleaned up the arbor plates and stuck this new one on. First cut was in an oak stringer and holy crap it was a thing of beauty. Hot knife through butter didn't even discribe it, is almost like it feeds itself, it cuts that easy. Just beautiful, clean, no burn marks and glueline ready. But I do have one problem. I should have ordered this long ago, but that's user error... On a side note, I have 2 new, never used, $10 blades for sale if anyone is interested in saving a buck. ... show more

  • How smooth is liquid smoke?
Size: Pack of 2
Picked up this two-pack of blades, since I have some long-in-the-tooth ten inch blades in both my mitre saw and my table saw. Although, reading this, I know it sounds misleading. So in case there are questions, let me be clear: Your old saw blades do not continue to grow teeth as they age; when they are picked off the tree, they are already mature and will not increase in size or length once off the vine. These things are quite trig. Slim as to be nearly only 2-dimensional. Most noticeable is how whisper quiet it tends to help make your saws. The table saw specifically is deceptively quiet. But do not be lulled by the soft ASMR whispers of this saw, it is still a murder machine that wants to snack on ladyfingers. Or gentlemanfingers, as saws do not understand gender. I have started with sheet goods through these blades, as those are likely the more finicky of fodder, ripe for tear out, etc. Hands-down better than my old, duller blades, and not just for the minuscule kerf. I did not provide longevity because its only a week plus and one project old to this point here. All things equal to this point, these are WELL worth the low price for the price, well worth having to swap in whenever you have finicky wood but still like to keep your old blades past their sell date normally. ... show more

  • Stays SHARP through pressure treated lumbar
Size: One Size
I bought this blade to construct 192 feet of dock 4' x 4' dock panels, made from pressure treated lumbar with a factory applied waterproof sealant . I was concerned with premature blade binding and dulling, as the wood was very saturated with preservative and each 5/4" x 6" x 8' board (actually a bit thicker than 5/4") was cut twice to fit the dock frame. I also had to cut many under structure 1" x 4" boards. In total, 192 5/4" x 6" boards - cut twice, and 72 1" X4" boards also cut twice! You get my point, lots of cutting...! Everything was cut with a Bosch sliding compound miter saw. This blade held up extremely well, it held nearly identical performance from the first cut to the last. While I did construct this dock over two days, most of the cutting was done in 3 sessions. The blade was excellent, the cut finish was also very good (not quite finish blade quality), particularly for a dock. I have several Freud blades and like many of the other reviewers, I feel they are precision made and the best, most durable blades at their price point (or perhaps any). Quality product! ... show more

  • Converted. Very impressed by my Freud experience.
Size: One Size
Very happy with this purchase. I have the Forrest WWII and have been very happy with it, but I think I am now a Freud user going forward. My WWII had started to dull and while I shipped it off to be sharpened, I decided to spring for the D1040X. I had read several reviews on the Diablo series of blades and thought it sounded like it was worth a shot for $30. I was very happy with the decision. The D1040X has withstood a beating and continues to be razor sharp months later. I've done several projects with some very hard, dense woods, including a vanity out of hickory and a crib out of walnut and this blade hasn't once been anything except awesome. Cross and rip cuts have been crisp and tear out has been minimal. When my WWII is sharp, it performs similarly to the Diablo in those applications, but the differentiator for me and the thing that has impressed me the most about this blade is the stability. The chatter from this blade is nearly non-existent. When ripping thin strips or cutting chamfers, I have always had lots of chatter to clean up (even when my WWII is sharp), but this Diablo blade has really outperformed the WWII in that area. I will continue to use my WWII regularly, but I suspect I will be using these Freud blades as my "primary" blades going forward. ... show more
