Description

10" x 24T Heavy-Duty Rip Blade Designed for serious woodworkers, the 10-inch Freud LM72R010 Heavy-Duty Rip Saw Blade features an ultra-tough Perma-SHIELD coating that reduces heat and friction. It delivers smooth, fast cuts through hard- and softwood. Thanks to a rigid blade body and 24 oversized, flat-top teeth with TiCo high-density carbide tips, this is one dependable, long-lasting blade. Plus, its well-balanced, anti-vibration design means there's no need to use stabilizers with it.Professional-Grade Design for Accurate Glue Line Cuts Offering fast, "glue line" precision cuts and an anti-kickback design, this heavy-duty rip saw blade handles tough industrial ripping tasks without requiring you to add any stabilizers to your setup. It's ideal for working with hard- or softwoods that are 3/4 to 2-3/4 inches thick, and it can be used in gang-rip operations. This versatile blade handles crosscuts with chipboard, plywood, or laminate, and can tackle thinner or thicker materials. However, some loss of surface finish may occur when it is used outside its ideal range. It has a 5/8-inch arbor and produces a 0.126 kerf. The extra-large, flat teeth featured on this blade leave a smooth, splinter-free finish that eliminates the need for sanding and jointing. This large-tooth design also allows the blade to be safely sharpened more times, prolonging the life of the blade and saving you money. And the large gullets between these teeth ensure easy chip removal.Well-Balanced, Anti-Vibration Design This Freud blade is precision balanced and pretensioned for truer cuts under heavy loads. It also features laser-cut, anti-vibration slots that reduce chatter for a cleaner finish, longer blade life, and reduced noise while you work. And because the entire blade is laser cut from high- strength steel, you can trust that it will stay stable, flat, and true, even after prolonged use.High-Density Carbide for Maximum Cutting Performance This heavy-duty rip saw blade's 24 teeth are finished with tips made from Freud's application-specific TiCo high-density carbide "ripping blend." This blend offers a mix of improved density, hardness, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and impact resistance that's ideally matched to the demands of ripping large quantities of thick, hard wood. With teeth that start out sharper and deliver improved edge retention, the blade can go longer between sharpening, and will hold up longer--once again, saving you time and money.Perma-SHIELD Coating Reduces Friction and Heat Buildup Built to withstand tough use in less-than-ideal conditions, this blade is finished with Freud's red Perma-SHIELD--a non-stick coating that reduces friction and nearly eliminates the heat buildup that excess friction can cause. By providing complete thermal insulation, this coating protects your tools and your work surface. And it resists binding when the blade is used for large-volume cutting applications, which reduces blade warp.As a lubricating feature, Perma-SHIELD allows the blade to spin freely while reducing stress on the motor and carriage of your saw. In addition, this coating helps prevent debris collection and resin or "pitch" buildup. Since gummy pitch buildup causes extra drag on the motor of your saw, less buildup is another little convenience that translates into longer tool life and longer blade life. It also means less downtime for blade cleaning, so you get jobs done faster. This industrial saw blade is backed by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.About Freud: A History of Innovative Manufacturing An industry leader for more than 50 years, Freud America, Inc. is a manufacturer and marketer of superior carbide cutting tools for the woodworking industry. • Better for ripping than a combo blade
Style: Industrial Heavy Duty Rip Saw Blade 10-I... Pattern Name: Rip Blade
I bought this because I had a lot of rip cuts in an upcoming project and some narrow dados. I normally use fine tooth combo blades on my table saw presuming they do cross cuts and rip cuts equally well. Since I have a miter saw I can dedicate my table saw to rip cuts. This blade has fewer teeth than the combo blade I have been using. It rips through cherry boards leaving a very good finish with minimal burning even on cuts over 1" deep. I especially like the flat bottom kerf for cross cutting tenons and for the narrow dados. It leaves a nice flat surface that needs less clean up with the chisel. I also rip cut some cabinet grade plywood with zero tear out. Understanding that this is a brand new, sharp high quality blade and I would expect great performance I am still extremely happy that I am using a rip blade for ripping. Well worth the effort of changing out the blade if you need to. Also I have done some cross cuts and it works fine so you don't need to change it out constantly. Maybe a downside for some - this is not a thin kerf blade. ... show more

  • Sturdy Clean Cut Saw Blade
Style: 10-Inch 24 Tooth FTG Ripping Saw Blade w... Pattern Name: Rip Blade
I needed a heavy duty rip saw blade for my table saw. Many are available on the market but they are either poorly manufactured or extremely expensive. Freud has a very high reputation. And this blade did not disappoint. The price was at right point. And it is of high quality and manufactured to very tight specifications. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend. ... show more

  • GREAT BLADE
Style: 10-Inch 24 Tooth FTG Ripping Saw Blade w... Pattern Name: Rip Blade
I am a senior cabinet maker. This is a great blade. It cuts through hardwood like a hot knife through butter. No burn marks, no blade scuffing or scratch marks. Absolutely a great buy.

  • Great Flat Top Blade
Style: 10-Inch 24 Tooth FTG Ripping Saw Blade w... Pattern Name: Rip Blade
The Freud Ripping Blade is simply great. This blade has delivered burn free rips on all types of wood, which is really nice since everyone hates sanding. Since this is also a flat grind, using this for dados means that you have less clean up for a seamless fit. One thing to keep in mind is the power of your saw with this blade being full kerf at 1/8". If you have a saw that doesn't have a blade break, then it may take a second to slow down, or if it's underpowered, it may take a second for it to get up to speed. ... show more

The blade is working very good so far and the accuracy is spot on. It is way too early to comment on longevity.

Good quality and robust blade to add to your collection. Along with fine ripping attributes, like other reviews mentioning of the Flat Grind tooth geometry this blade is perfect for those corner spline joints.

  • shipped in a plastic bubble envelope
Style: 10-Inch 24 Tooth FTG Ripping Saw Blade w... Pattern Name: Rip Blade
I thought about knocking a star off for this, but shipping/packaging is not really reflective of the product. It is worth noting though. The blade was shipped in the Freud retail package intended for rack display which was placed in a lightweight plastic bubble envelope. Every tooth had slightly chewed through the Freud card stock cardboard. Fortunately none of the teeth were chipped and the blade is fine. What can you really say about a sawblade ?? It is a 10" diameter 1/8" wide kerf, flat top grind blade, if you need this configuration this is a very economical blade compared to the Forrest #1 grind 40 tooth blade. I bought this blade as a backup to my 40 tooth Forrest blade. Comparing the cut of this 24 tooth blade vs the 40 tooth Forrest blade on a rip cut there is a little bit of difference in the smoothness of the cut but this blade it is not bad at all and if price is considered into the mix I would say this blade punches above its price point. Comparing an inexpensive 24 tooth blade to an expensive 40 tooth blade on a cross cut is not really fair, and it falls behind here. I make a lot of non-through cuts that require a flat bottom and this blade makes a consistent flat bottom cut. I am satisfied with this blade, while it is not the excellent jack of all trades as the Forrest 40 tooth #1 grind blade is it is an excellent ripping blade and being able to cut flat bottom grooves is important to me. ... show more
