I bought this along with the souper cubes and love it all. I started freezing fruits for smoothies and looking forward to more for some longer term meal prepping. Great info. Great photos.

  • Exactly what I needed
I grow a vegetable garden every year and I purchase bulk fresh produce to supplement that garden. Quality has always been of the utmost importance to me, but I struggled with how to best preserve all of that fresh picked goodness without sacrificing quality. Well. This book has been a total game changer for me! I've already used it to freeze cranberry sauce, fresh ginger that I had way too much of, apple pie filling (the best recipe), and 20 lbs of asian pears! Crystal, this book is a masterpiece and so incredibly useful. Thank you so much for your attention to detail. I know without a doubt that every recipe will be incredible because you put in all of the time and effort so that I don't have to! I look forward to this next year of gardening and preserving with this amazing book in my arsenal! Just buy it, you won't regret it! ... show more

  • Handy Reference Book
Book is well put together with nice pictures. Fruits and vegetables are alphabetic for quick reference. There is additional information about freezers and containers. We are supposed to eat more dark leafy greens. The book has helpful ideas about freezing greens in serving size amounts which are easy to add to meals. I had a pile of produce all prepped and ready to go into my fairly new, fancy brand juicer but it failed to start. Fortunately, I had this book! Some of the 5 lbs. of carrots became Honey-Butter Carrot Mash, now stocked in the freezer. Also made the Carrot-Coconut Almond Flour Muffins, a good recipe that is less sweet and more substantial. I am not comfortable with canning, so this book is especially helpful for preserving. A good companion to this book might be Fridge Love by Kristen Hong. ... show more

  • Great All Around!
Bought as a Christmas gift for my fiancée who is a wholefed homestead fan, and extremely interested in food preservation and canning. We recently uprooted our entire lives and moved in order to become self sufficient homesteaders and she has been flipping through the pages preparing for this summer and fall. There is so much information in this book, it even helped guide our seed selections. The book itself is really nice with high quality images. You can tell no details were spared and a lot of effort went into this. Was lucky enough to get it for a great sale price. Thank you, Crystal!! ... show more

  • Amazing directions and delicious recipe ideas!
As a novice food preserver, I've been attracted to freezing more than canning, as it seems more approachable. This books gives details on freezing fruits and veggies as well as amazing recipes to make and freeze or recipes that use your frozen produce. I already made the almond flour carrot cake muffins (with fresh carrots) and they are so delicious, I've already made two more batches! I am super excited about garden season and will be much more prepared to handle the abundance! No joke, I read this cookbook cover to cover for enjoyment. This is so well done. ... show more
