This kit arrived today. It is really heavy, at 40 pounds. The press sleeves are designed with a tiny lip to press old bushings and bearings out, and it appears they will do that well. One could use the threaded rods too. The case is flimsy and has already cracked, but no matter. These sleeves and attachments are well worth the money, especially for use with shop presses.

I was able to remove the infamous Front Compliance Bushing and all the rest of my control arm bushings with 0 issues. There were a lot of reviews saying the rods all snapped or threads got messed up but I did not experience these problems. My recommendation is to have the sleeve/nut you are applying torque on the very end to reduce any torsion on the middle of the bar (refer to photo). I love the size ranges of the sleeves/rods and the quality of the nut with washers. Definitely satisfied with having this kit in my garage.

Set did manage to remove my vertical rubber bushing from my lower control arm, however I was installing a zinc ball and socket bushing and it would not hold straight. I assume the bend that the rods have in them will allow your set up to easily go off center. Lucky I was in a shop the had a jack press and the cups in the kit worked great with that. So I would return it but I may use the cups with a press or ball joint press in the future or just replace the rods. Cups are solid, great variety so far.

I managed to press out 8 bushings before ruining 3 of the 4 rods. I guess the broken one was probably my fault - I clearly overestimated how much it could handle. The others randomly seized up with chewed up threads in few locations. I suppose you could keep them in an oil bath in a negative pressure room, use with gloves on in zero dust environment, and never apply more than 10ftlb torque, and maybe they would last longer. The cups are fine, but i wish there were odd sizes in between. I ended up pushing the pusher every time since the OD would be too close to my ID of the control arms, so they would get stuck. Overall, not great for the money. Update: After 2 more bushings every rod is trashed. In fact, I now have 50mm od tube stuck inside my control arm and no way to push it out. Zero stars

I didn't realize how many things I could use this for around my shop. My only complaint is that it's really only for larger diameter parts/bushings.

My unit came with the smaller threaded rod bent and threads beat up. From shipping or came like that? The world will never know. The system works (just avoided the bent area of the rod or use the other 3 thicker ones; I needed the smaller size to go through a socket I was using) and I pressed out the bushings I needed on a control arm, so can't complain too much. Made a terrible job less terrible, so I'm happy. Cheap tool for jobs I hate doing. On to the next sleeved bushing to press out on a 20 year old car.

This works very well in the press at work to press bushings in and out, install seals, lots of different pieces for what I need to get done and very reasonably priced
