A slow leak out my hot water tank was the problem. I put this in a 5 gallon bucket under the hot water tank. Did not work. Not enough head pressure to get over the top of the bucket. I switched to a 3 gallon bucket and now it will pump water down the pipe. Finally I bought a 5 dollar timer at Walmart and it keeps it from running at day. Yes it has water proof lights. I use for outside dog water bowl. Gets clogged easily. One of the sides falls off all the time so finally just took it off. Suction cups fall off and just don't stick well.
