  • Good For the Home Enthusiast
Size: 1 Pack
Honestly, all of the negative reviews of this item made me think hard about whether or not to give it a try, but ultimately the price point won me over and I figured I would return it if it turned out to be junk. Happily, this was not the case. For some context, what I needed it for was light-weight to put it mildly. One of the stairs of our house's three staircases had begun to sag deeply over the past few years so we hired a carpenter to fix it. He did a wonderful repair but didn't have an electric or pneumatic staplegun to put the carpet back, and rather than pay for the rental and his labor for another day, I decided to do it myself. After scouring Amazon, I figured since this tool was essentially the same price that I'd pay to rent a stapler for a day, I might as well buy it to keep around for future projects. I will say, however, that I already owned a compressor which is an expenditure in itself, so for those who would have no other need for one except in the use of this tool, it might not be worth it for you. So how did it fare? Over the twenty or so staples that I pumped out of this thing, all went in like butter. No jams. They were 1-1/2 inch staples too, so I wasn't dealing with a situation where a spring-loaded gun would have done the same job. The pressure was set at 100psi and the tool functioned admirably. I can't speak to how rugged it is or how well it would do under the weight of large projects, but for those who might need it only on occasion, I can happily recommend it. It might hold up under more demanding circumstances too, I just don't know... either way, it's hard to pass up given all you get for under $50! Hope this review helps. Cheers! ... show more

  • Great product at a GREAT price!!
Size: 1 Pack
Was a little leery just due to how cheap it was compared to big name brands. Works great, never jambs and sets the staples where it should. Have used for the past couple of years with no issues and it is still going strong.

  • Didn't work at all on my 1/2" carbonized strand woven bamboo floor
Size: 1 Pack
I bought this nailer hoping to use it to nail down my floor and then reinstall my baseboards, unfortunately it didn't work for either. It seems well made and would probably work fine for most types of flooring, but the 1/2" carbonized strand woven bamboo we put in was just too dense. The staples would either not penetrate the board, or would curl in random directions, sometimes out the top of the finished board, ruining it. To me, the curling indicated that the 18 gauge staples were just not stiff enough for such a dense floor. I ended up using a traditional mallet fired floor nailer (Freeman PFL618BR) and it worked pretty well although still had some occasional issues with jams. Also, after testing the nailer, I didn't feel that 1 5/8" was really long enough to put the baseboards back in with so I ended up getting a 16 gauge nailer (Freeman PFN64) for that. That wasn't really the fault of this nailer, I should have done better research. I think this is a good product but be aware that it doesn't handle very dense floors very well. The description makes no mention of that so I'm knocking off 1 star. I bought two more nailers of the same brand because I felt that this nailer was well made and had a good warranty for a good price, it just wasn't the right tool for the job. ... show more

  • Easy to use and worked great
Size: 1 Pack
I am a weekend warrior who took on a 400 sq ft engineered hardwood floor. It was 3/8 in thick and not easy to work with. This nail gun was the perfect tool to staple the wood into the sub floor. This was the first time ever doing this type project and without this nail gun it would have been next to impossible to do properly. The gun did not jam 1 time during the project. it is light weight and i can use it for future projects as a regular brad nail gun. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • nailer better then expected
Size: 1 Pack
i had ordered this nailer but it came missing some parts. so i returned it. i ordered another nailer (same brand) but this one was only $60 and came as a returned item. that was the reason for a lower cost. took a chance and it came with all accessories. after trying it out i noticed that the unit needed more air pressure to operate then the manual called for. i have many air tools so I'm accustomed to issues. i oiled the unit with 10 drops rather then the 3 stated in the manual (maybe dried seals. used it for 25 30 shots (staples) and then it started to normalize (use standard pressure). i bought it because i started a 550 sf flooring in my house. well I'm done and the nailer is doing well. no problems or issues other the needing oil. works really well. i would highly recommend this unit if your doing engineered wood flooring. ... show more

  • Problems but got the job done.
Size: 1 Pack
When I received the product one of the plastic parts was broken. I was waiting on the gun to start install of new hardwood flooring. Called Freeman and they said send it back to amazon. I did, but not right away. I super glued the broken part and it was holding so started on the flooring. Didn't hold well but continued to glue. Ended up limping a long until I received replacement. The second nailer worked fine. Good news is it did not jam on my project. The plastic head is the weakest part of the of the gun (go figure). Works itself loose about every 100 nails. Tighten up and keep going. Annoying. In addition, I would say use 1/4" hose. I used 3/8" and it would not set staples even with pressure set 10 lbs. over max recommended pressure. Used nails instead of staples. I would not recommend this gun if you are working professionally. For my 800 ft. of hardwood it was fine. It does convert to a normal stapler but have not taken the flooring head off. ... show more

  • Great deal on a great product
Size: 1 Pack
Installed 3/8" engineered wood floors with it. I had to set it on approx 120 psi to shoot the staples deep enough. I used 1 1/4" nucor staples (Im not sure how thick the plywood subfloor is but it's at least 3/4" maybe more). Air compressor I have is 150 psi max. I stapled through the tongue side of the boards, not the groove side. You need to test the gun and air compressor settings to get the right depth. I tested several staples into the same end of a piece so that portion could be cut off and the rest of the board still used. Take your time and make sure the gun is seated on the tongue of the board so the staple hits the tongue and not the top of the board (did this a couple times when I was foolishly hurrying). There's a small step-like pattern on the floor mount, so put the edge of the little step on top the tongue of the board and the bottom feet of the mount on the subfloor (the vertical edge of the step will be touching against the side of the top face of the wood piece and the vertical edge of the mount feet will be pressing against the tongue of the wood piece, hopefully I'm explaining that well). The staple will fire into the tongue and down thru the board totally hidden and perfect. If you seat the gun in the proper position it's very consistent. I had no varying depths of the nail, and there was no misfires or jams - not one. This is my first nail gun so I'm no expert and this gun is perfect. ... show more

  • Tried to find a stapler like this somewhere in Phoenix
Size: 1 Pack
OK. Here's a little story for you. Tried to find a stapler like this somewhere in Phoenix, thinking it's a major metropolitan area and should be no problem. After trips to Lowe's, Home Depot, Lumber Liquidators, Floor and Decor, and Harbor Tool and Freight, I came home empty-handed. Had no idea what to buy, but someone at one of the stores recommended a Bostitch floor runner stapler. Amazon to the rescue! However, just as I was about to order the Bostitch Floor Runner, I noticed it had a large number of lousy reviews. Many, many people said it jams. So I was reluctant to order it. Reading their comments, several reviewers recommended this stapler, many saying it never jams. So I ordered one for my flooring project. Of course, when it came it jammed on the fourth staple. Rats! After clearing it, at jammed several more times in the next 10 minutes. Frustrated, and knowing this model had many great reviews, I ordered another one and asked Amazon for a refund. They shipped the second unit out immediately, refunded the price of the first one, and told me to just keep it. They didn't even want it back. Thanks Amazon, for helping me avoid the hassle of shipping it back. I appreciate how you stand behind your products. To make a long story short, the second unit worked flawlessly for thousands and thousands of staples on the large project. Not one single jam! I guess the first unit was just a lemon, probably made on a Friday. This thing works great, is reasonably priced, and made a really hard job go fast and easy. Buy with confidence! ... show more
