  • Solid touch paddle that generates more power. Very happy
Style: 14.5mm
Let me first say that I had a Joola paddle that lacked a sweet spot and had a wobbly handle and didn't necessarily need to buy a new one. I bought this paddle because I wanted to speed up my ball movement on the court and didn't want to sacrifice my good dinking ability in the process and heard from others this new paddle was well worth the extra spend. Just got it yesterday and already played 4 hours with it and it's amazing. Not only does it actually look cool but it has a buttery soft grip and put more pep in my shots. I was enthused that I didn't hit more shots out even though I was hitting the ball harder and was getting more spin than my regular group was used to which gave each of my doubles pairings the big W. Very happy with this paddle and definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Sloppy build and weird handle..
Style: 17mm
I bought this paddle during Prime Deals as I wanted to try a carbon and thicker model. I’m more of the “tennis” style player that likes to play aggressive and with power, vs the dink-dunk game that most favor. The carbon fiber with the thickness does add to that style of game as the bigger paddle allows for smoother and slower swings which increase control and spin, while maintaining most of the power of thinner paddles. Unfortunately, this Franklin paddle has two fatal flaws that many on the Reviews have noted: 1) The handle is essentially rectangular which makes for an uncomfortable grip, and 2) the plastic lining along the paddle edge will easily break off after just a few “dig” attempts as the paddle scrapes the ground/floor. This paddle would be a good value compared to the other major manufacturers’ carbon models…but the two fatal flaws make this paddle a bad option for good players. ... show more

  • Protective Paddle Band loose -ready to fall off
Style: 17mm
The protective paddle band around the outside of racket became loose after 2 games of Pickleball. I'm not the first person to complain about this manufacture defect. I have always been a Franklin Paddle fan. Very disappointed. :(

  • Best paddle on the market
Style: 17mm
Franklin does it again. Been playing pickle ball for a couple of years now. I’ve owned about 15 paddles and Franklin always seems to make the best paddles. The carbon stk 17mm is by far the best paddle I’ve owned. You can tell right away that it is built with only quality materials. The handle feels awesome when holding and the paddle it’s self is properly weighted and balanced. I’ve been looking for a paddle that gives me complete control of the ball and I’ve finally found it. It’s also usa pickle ball approved which can’t hurt. The paddle arrive 2 days early so I have nothing but great things to say about it. A must buy if you are into or getting into pickle ball. ... show more

  • Carbon STK- Great Value!
Style: 14.5mm
I’m an avid player that has increased my play from once a week to 4-5 times a week. I’ve tried many brands, and various shapes and sizes but I had the chance to demo this paddle and it offers a lot at a great value in comparison to other higher priced paddles I’ve owned. I was drawn to this paddle for a few reasons. This is a carbon fiber paddle that uses the fibers to create a textured surface. No spray here. I can immediately feel the effect/spin it imparts on the ball when I play. Also, this paddle offers great control with power which is a great combo, and something not all carbon paddles can do. I can make passing shots with ease. Last, I love the longer handle- easy to get two hands on. This paddle offers great playability and at a price point my wallet is ok with! ... show more

  • Well-Made Paddle - But Not Right For Me
Style: 17mm
First important point. A paddle is a very personal choice - and what might be right for me might not be right for someone else, so they are difficult to review. That being said, I am an intermediate player, and previously played with other Franklin paddles before switching to Joola. I was excited to try the Sports Pro, and a few initial reactions. It is thick, with a much larger grip than I am accustomed to. The fit and finish is really nice and it is a very well made paddle. But it is not the paddle for me. I played with it for a day, and could not adjust to the thickness or different action. I let a friend play with it for a few rounds, and she had the same reaction - and she returned to playing with another Franklin and I am again playing my Joola. NIce paddle - but just not right for me. ... show more

  • Not sure if I got a dud or not, but it's not as good as I desired for the price I paid...
Style: 14.5mm
I was so excited to upgrade my "Christmas gifted Pickleball starter paddle" to a new "more experienced" paddle. My wife and I had been playing with some friends that had the "Franklin Sports Pro Pickleball Paddle" and both me and my wife LOVED them. So, we began saving our money.. Well, it finally came time to purchase, and my wife surprised me and told me to get this Carbon Fiber version, adding about $50 more to the price! I'm very athletic and she wanted me to have a very good paddle and I'm super thankful for her suggesting that. We received our paddles and I was pumped to play with it. At first, it was very different from what I was used to. But I adjusted quickly. But within a month of playing, I started to experience a very weird noise. It started to have a "rattling" noise when the ball would hit the outside of the paddle. Obviously, I know there is no such paddle that has a perfect "Sweet spot" all over, but this was a very odd noise, and our friends even started to say "that is a weird noise" or "that doesn't sound right". I took great care of this paddle. I tried not to let it hit the ground, and I didn't "high five" with other paddles. After getting more and more frustrated, I started looking at both my wife's paddle, and my Carbon Fiber Paddle. The rim of my paddle can easily be lifted, where my wife's cannot be lifted at all. I don't know if this is due to different materials, but her paddle is definitely got a much better pop and overall feel to it. I don't know if I got a bad paddle, or if it's just the way it's built, but it definitely is not a good paddle for $150.. I've been playing with it for 5 months now, and I'm already looking at other paddle options after losing MANY points to the dreaded "rattle" noise and the ball just completely dying off my paddle. Franklin or amazon, did I get a dud?? Or is this just the way the paddle is built...? ... show more
