  • Solid product
Style: Bearclaw Night With Light
Great construction and design for kayak fishing. Have to wait for summer to try it.

  • Best Net I've Used
Style: 21" X 24" Hoop Size
This net is perfect for my needs and very solid. A popular competitor likes to break where the handle screws into the net so I went with a trusty Frabill. For those wondering, the handle does fully separate from the net so you can store the net in a hatch and slide the handle anywhere you like. I did modify mine by simply adding a stainless screw with a rubber washer to the handle to stop the net about an inch short of the end of the net when stowing to keep the handle from punching through the fabric (see pic). I would definitely buy again. This thing is solid. ... show more

  • Great snag resistance!
Style: Bearclaw Night With Light
This is a great net. I bought the bear claw style net because I do a lot of kayak fishing and I figured it would be easier to hold on to while grabbing tools with the other hand. I don't think I'll be using the light on it often because I don't do a lot of night time fishing but it is very bright and has 3 settings for those of you that will use it. I also like that the net itself is coated to help prevent your hooks and the fishes gills from snagging on it. I catch a lot of northern pike and they like to thrash around a lot. It was a pain to get fish unhooked with my old net. This one is hassle-free. ... show more

  • Great quality! Bulky and doesn’t stay folded
Style: Bearclaw
If you’re a kayak tourney guy always getting the huge bulls I give it a solid 4 stars, this is a step above the YA leverage in both design and function for the same price or less. The length adjustability is very quick and intuitive, I found I could “choke up” on it without ever having to take my hand off, it’s almost second nature, let gravity slide it to you. The hand position is much more natural for reaching out and sweeping to the side vs coming from underneath. It’s heavy; takes getting used to for one handed deployment; holes a touch small; it could use a little padding on the arm rest. All minor stuff. Overall, for the hardcore, I recommend it. For weekend warriors, it would help if the handle would stay in the folded position, some type of friction so that it can still be deployed one handed but kept from just flopping around. When I try to set it aside, it unfolds and becomes this awkward thing to deal with, I just wanted some suntan lotion now I’m fumbling with this handle. If I put it behind my seat, the handle will often wedge in between or catch something that requires turning around and fighting with. There is a huge missed opportunity to easily make it float, at this price I shouldn’t need DIY and it’s not uncommon for something to fall off your kayak unnoticed while fighting a fish. This should be a no brainer and there’s already room in the design. All in all, I feel this is a great version 1 but enough little gripes for me to wait for the upgraded version 2 that addresses these gripes not just adds silly LEDs. I really hope they do as this is a well priced high quality product. ... show more

  • Nice net, huuuuuge box!
Style: 18" X 21" Hoop Size
I just got my new Frabill net today and I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Seems sturdy and all that. My review is about the box and shipping. For some odd reason, Amazon decided to ship this USPS, which normally is fine. In this case the box was so massive, it wouldn't fit in the mail carrier truck so I received a ticket to pick it up at the post office in 2 or more days. So much for speedy delivery. After I waited in line for an hour risking my life, I finally got the box. This thing is massive! The box would not fit in my car no matter how I tried. I ended up pulling the net out of the box which fit easily in the car and wrestling and beating the box into submission so I could get it in my car. I'm sure the people witnessing me punch and kick this box got a good laugh. When I got home I measured the box at 74 inches long and the net was a meer 50.5 inches long collapsed. • Great net
Style: 24" X 27" Hoop Size
I purchased the Power Extend 2427 first off all because limited space to store a net in the boat and secondly because we fish waters with multi species of fish. It is not uncommon to catch Northerns in excess of 30 inches while fishing for Walleye that are smaller but still require netting. I see reviews that say that the secondary handle is too weak. This net is designed to be lightweight and easily stored, which it is. If you want a fence post with a net on the end, this is not your net. Once the fish is netted, use the added handle at the yoke to land it vertically. One issue that I had was that the extended primary easily retracted by just the resistance of the net being pushed into the water. The yellow release for the primary handle is adjustable. It has a brass pawl that can be accessed by disassembling the yoke ( Take lots of pictures) . I turned mine out ( counter clockwise) one and a half turns. Too much and the pawl wont come up and out of the hole in the handle and it can’t retract. I also found two screws inside the yoke that were stripped and wouldn’t tighten up. I added a drop of serviceable thread locker and cured this issue. Overall I’m happy with this net, it is definitely better than a fence poll. ... show more

  • Falls apart
Style: 24" X 27" Hoop Size
Used this net a handful of times before the locking pin on the telescoping handle broke. Went to net a fish and the net popped off the end and sunk into 350 feet of water. This net is pretty expensive and the locking pins should be designed better. Worst spot on a net to have a weak point. Had to lift the fish over the side of the boat. Now I have an expensive telescoping bow staff. Would not recommend. ... show more
