  • High quality, light-duty hiker with a clean modern look with great color options!
Size: 10.5 Color: Grey
I have been waiting a while to write a review for these Foxelli Hiking Boots in Grey, size 10.5. These are a light-duty hiker made with very high quality materials and hardware. Mine are in the Grey. It's a medium silvery grey with all black accents and hardware. Big praise for going black, minimalist! The Foxelli Family has got the look down to a clean, angular modern look. The two other colors are very cool, as well. These do an especially good job supporting your ankles. Foxelli uses these very cool stay-tied laces and includes an extra pair of those stay-tied laces and a pair of their own, very nice high-performance socks! These boots are nicely light, have a great all-around, grippy sole, with a very comfortable insole that holds your foot in place. And the great looks! I don't have much comparative experience with sizing in hikers, however from the moment I slipped my foot in these nice boots I have thought they are slightly too small. I do think they run like 4mm too small in width and length. I should have sent them back and got the 10.5 Wide. I do think an 11 would be sloppy. I just really, really wish Foxelli would make the sizing more generous! I was barely good with these in super hot weather with thin socks, but as the weather finally cools I see they won't handle even normal boot socks. I wish your Family and your excellent product all the best, but why you would scrimp on sizing is a mystery to me. I hope this helps the people shopping for a great hiker to get your product in the right fit. ... show more

  • Excellent boots Excellent boots
Size: 11.5 Color: Blue
I have been an avid hiker for decades and a hike leader for over a decade. I summited Mt. Whitney 13 times among many other peaks in California. In a few months, I plan to visit Everest Base Camp plus 3 Passes in Nepal so I am looking for something better than what I have presently. I have worn Saucony Peregrine for many years before that I wore Salomon Speedcross for many years. In addition, I also have Lowa Renegade boots and Zamberlan Tofane for years. The purpose of my search is to find a new pair of boots better than what I have. Nepalese guide insists that I wear boots. My Lowa Renegade weighs 2.8 lb while Zamberlan Togane weighs 5 lbs. Both are on the heavy side for me. I want to find out if there is a pair of boots out there that is better suited for this trip so I started the search. I started by comparing published specs and noted that Salomon boots tend to be lighter. Their boots also have aggressive tread that I like. Lowa Renegade is durable and reliable, but its leather top makes it more rigid and heavier. Zamberlan Tafane is super comfortable but very heavy. I tried Salomon Quest 4D Forces 2. This is truly a solid pair of boots. Many service men/women wear it for good reason. It is very rigid and likely an overkill for my trip. I tired Salomon Quest 4. It weighs over 3 lbs and still very rigid. REI salesman sweared by it, but I want some flexibility so that I can move a bit faster on trail. There are lots of positive comments on Salomon X Ultra 3 so I ordered one to try out, and it didn’t disappoint. X Ultra 3 is a pair of well balanced boots that weighs only 2.2 lb. I read that X Ultra 4 is even more flexible so I tried it out at REI. It is much more flexible alright, maybe too much. I searched Amazon to see if there is something else out there that can challenge X Ultra 3, and I can’t help but noticing the 4.7/5 score on the Foxelli boots. Foxelli boots? Is this for real? I have used their poles for years. Their poles replaced my Black Diamond poles. They are much lighter and every bit as strong but more durable. I ordered a pair of Foxelli boots to try. My first impression is the tread is nearly as aggressive as X Ultra 3. If the tread is not as aggressive, that would have been a dealbreaker for me. I put on my wool socks and tried on both Foxelli and X Ultra 3 side by side. Below are my observations: Foxelli is much more comfortable than X Ultra 3. I have Foxelli 11.5 vs. X Ultra 3 11.5 wide. Foxelli fits my foot perfectly. X Ultra toe box is not as comfortable. Foxelli heel is higher as to provide more ankle support. Foxelli sole is so much more comfortable than X Ultra. Out of curiosity, I removed its insole and noted that it is much thicker than X Ultra’s Orthilite. There are even strategic padding in the Foxelli insole to provide more support. Foxelli weighs 2.8 lb as compared to 2.2 lb for X Ultra. However, for X ultra to work for me, I will need to add a heel cup to give it more cushion that will bring its weight to 2.4 lb. The question I asked myself was why Foxelli was more comfortable than X Ultra. I sticked my hand inside the boot and that was when I noted that it was fully padded inside like Zamberlan Tafane that costs $ 500. I also noted that X Ultra upper is made up of many pieces of various materials as compared to a much simpler design of Foxelli. The more materials to stitch together, the more stitches to come loose one day. Suede is much more durable than synthetic fabric. My hunch is Foxelli will likely be more durable. Foxelli is 0.4 lb heavier than X Ultra 3. In light of the additional padding and thicker insole, I decided to return X Ultra 3 to REI and wear Foxelli for my EBC trip. I will post an update after the trip. Suggestion: The shoelace hooks can be improved by using the same locking shoelace hook at the top of the shoe to secure the last 3 shoelace hook positions. With current arrangement, ankle is not securely locked down. Feet tend to slide forward inside the boots. The last 2 shoelace hooks are the most important because they keep the feet steady inside the boots. I hope Foxelli can make this improvement. 7/27/22 Update: Wore the boots to Onion Valley, CA and Big Pine Lakes, CA over the weekend. I noted that the insole is a bit too soft. My feet inside the boots move too much to get full ankle protection. Softer insoles are good for work boots. However, for hiking over rough terrain, a bit firmer insole will keep the feet inside boots steady as to provide more ankle protection. ... show more

  • The Product Card. 😂 The Product Card. 😂
Size: 13 Color: Brown
The inserted help card has me producing this review. 😂 Small businesses need all the help they can get. Truly, they are the backbone of our economy, employing the majority of our folk. Haven't taken the boots out for a hike yet and will report back on observations. Being a long distance hiker, I was surprised to see these boots for the price, causing my purchase. They seem to be of good quality craftsmanship and are double stitched. I worry a bit about the grip on the lug pattern on the bottom, and will try to include my observation of grip after my first hike with the boots. I like the styling of the boot and they come with a pair of socks and some extra boot strings. Added value, and unusual. I think this price point will be difficult to beat. I will produce a post edit once I have them out on the trail. 👍🏻 *Post edit: I told you I would produce a post edit, after testing. And, I keep my word. 🙂 Put four miles on the boots. My feet, screwed up from thousands of miles hiking, felt good in these boots. The stability around the ankles and padding seemed perfect. The arch seemed well supported too. The balls of my feet are really screwed up, and the foot bed felt a great deal more comfortable than other hiking boots I've used. The weight to stability seems almost a perfect match. The soles: I've always hiked with an aggressive Vibram sole. The gold standard in durability and slip control. I had been concerned about the Foxhelli sole. My four miles on the boot surprised me. I experienced less slippage with the Foxhelli soles than my Vibram soles. I'm surprised by the performance at this price point. So surprised, I'm putting another pair in my shopping buggy. 🙂 ... show more

  • Please try these!
Size: 11 Color: Brown
Update: I have now worn these boots all day, everyday for roughly two weeks. I walk 3 miles almost every morning with a 35 pound backpack. They still look brand new. I did not notice any "break-in" period; they were perfectly comfortable right out of the box. They are still the most comfortable footwear I have ever put on my feet (that includes expensive fluffy house slippers). If this gives you any idea on comfort level, when I am inside my house where no one but my wife and daughter can see, I will wear these things with basketball shorts and a comfy t-shirt (it looks completely goofy but it's my most comfortable setup). They are also quite lightweight which was something I was worried about with hiking boots. I have not tested the waterproofness of the boots nor can I speak to how quickly they dry out if they got water inside them for some reason. What I did not realize was that they also came with an extra pair of really awesome laces AND a pair of great socks!! My 20 month old daughter had taken those things out of the box when I first tried on the boots and I just found them under the couch inside that tissue paper stuff they pack things in. And I'm still not being paid for this review, nor do I want to. I want everyone to know how good these boots are and help this company out because they are doing good things. Original Review: Im not being paid or receiving any sort of benefit from writing this review. These boots are roughly $100 and wow! My foot is almost 11” long so i ordered a 10.5 and an 11. The 11 fit perfectly. Straight out of the box they have noticeable cushion and feel really comfortable and cushy. The tread is nice and aggressive. The brown boots looked reddish on my phone but they are in fact a deep, rich, brown. No loose threads. They feel great even when walking 3 miles with a 35 pound backpack. I just started hiking and these are absolutely the way to go! Foxelli, thank you for making a quality product. Im going to be trying more of your stuff from now on. ... show more

  • Great Hikers - Size 10 Wide, Grey
Size: 10 Wide Color: Grey
Updated July 21, 2021 Ok, after 6 months of intense use I started to notice some stress cracks in the toe cap. At first I thought it would be ok but then eventually they grew and had penetrated through to the waterproof membrane in the boot. I didn't test the boots waterproof ability which since day one had been exceptional. What do I consider intense? Well, I am 280 lbs, and I walk my dog 3 times a day which winds up being close to 6 miles each day. There is some asphalt driveway, grass, crush-n-run gravel, dirt, snow, ice. The trails I created in the woods on my property are all hilly and the elevational difference is nearly 80 feet, in as little as a couple hundred yards. A lot of it is pretty steep, and there is some shale here and there. I cleaned my boots after each use. I did not use a conditioner on the toe caps. Oh, a string broke too. I contacted Foxelli and explained the situation. They were very helpful and understanding. Foxelli promptly sent a replacement pair of boots. The product is only part of the equation. The company that stands behind their products is what makes the products truly great. I will be a customer for life. I suggested they sell a lower trail type sneaker that's waterproof, for these scorching hot days were having here in Maryland. I would be able to wear my boots all winter and the shoes all summer. Maybe you all can write them to do the same. Imagine a trail shoe with the quality and features of their boots! Thank you Foxelli! Purchased Feb. 5, 2021 Short story: They provide great traction on snow covered, uneven surfaces. They are comfortable on all areas of my feet, including the ankles. Yes, they are waterproof. I normally wear a size 10EE or 10EEE, so the size Wide is somewhat snug but not unbearable. Depending on the material and construction however, I can get away with a wide, so I took a chance with these. I'm not unhappy at all. If they can withstand me using them to hike through the woods on my property which is severely hilly, while walking my dog 3 times a day, every day, in any weather, these will be the only boots I will ever buy again for this activity. Long story: My Skechers hikers blew out the pinky toe area after only a year so I needed new boots. I have other boots, but they are all special purpose types (loggers, deep snow/extreme cold, construction w/steel toes, etc) and I wanted a similar replacement that was 1) comfortable, 2) light weight and 3) waterproof. Having an insulated boot was not on my "need" list because when I am wearing them I will be walking practically non-stop. The boots arrived sooner than indicated when I placed the order. Thanks Amazon. I put them on as soon as they arrived. I was skeptical at first because I thought they looked a little narrow. I decided they were keepers though. I wore them for my nightly walk. The ground was softer and the bare spots were mushy. We have a lot of clay in the soil here. The boots did great. Traction was awesome. One thing I noticed right away was how soft the soles felt. For a hiker that is extremely important to me. My HyTech hikers are comfy but they are much stiffer in the body and the soles are like iron. The colder it gets the harder they are. These are the complete opposite. Overnight the temps dropped to 18 degrees fahrenheit. The remaining snow on the ground (4" or more in some places) was crusty, and dry, and sounded like I was walking on rice krispies. The wet mush spots were now solid. I was thoroughly impressed how comfortable they were in these temps. Still soft enough to walk in over the uneven terrain. Even at these temps my felt were not cold. Maybe if I was sitting still but not while walking. It's been a couple days and the comfort rating has remained the same. There is a little tightness in the left foot toe box but I think it's due to being improperly tied and or my left foot is a little larger than the right? LOL Another bonus not talked about that much are the shoe laces. These are a special type of lace that almost feels like they are braided when they're made and that makes them stay tied. This is a huge pet peeve of mine and I will spend a lot of money trying to find laces that stay tied. Kudo's for the R&D on these. I will likely store the extra (free) pair in a safe so I never lose them. The free socks gave me pause because I thought it was weird to not have socks come up to my calves. Then I remembered that none of the socks I own stay up over my calves. If you have larger calves you know what I mean. These free socks are comfortable and I will be looking for similar styles instead of what I typically wear. If they (Foxelli) decides to start selling them I want to buy some. My review stands, 5 Stars. I completely endorse these hiking boots. If they can withstand me, they will probably be able to withstand anything anyone else can subject them to. Great job Foxelli! ... show more

best boots I have ever had, period. had the grey ones for years and they're still doing fine but finally falling apart some. those grey boots lasted thousands of miles of walking and hiking and were sturdy and strong and very comfy. I trained with stairs too and I have done thousands of floors of stairs and these things were incredible. if you hike or do any kinda exercise and want lightweight boots that can take everything you can throw at it I can not recommend these enough. ... show more
