Description

Way out on the Colorado Plateau, two lines cross at right angles, forming the borders of four states. You can stand on this spot and be in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah all at the same time. This book is about the area roughly 150 miles around that point, a land of fantastic rock formations, ancient dwellings, and diverse cultures. Multiple national parks and monuments have been set aside to preserve the Four Corners wonders. And nature s rainbow of colors paints these vast landscapes and barren badlands where sandstone rock sculptures grace majestic canyons. Join us in a tour of these remarkable places and learn the history of this unforgettable land and its people. Read more

  • Great Book About The Southwest
Format: Paperback
The Four Corners Monument is the only place where four states meet, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. This book has a good balance of text and photos, and covers not just the monument but the surrounding area as well. If you like the southwest, you will enjoy this book.

  • Understand Arizona
Format: Paperback
I grew up in northern Arizona and collect books about Arizona history. When I heard Larry Lindahl interviewed on Horizon I ordered the book and it's all I hoped it to be and more. Places and culture are organized logical perspectives and Larry Lindahl's photographs are delightful.

I especially enjoyed the coverage of the beautiful landscapes. I haven't been to the Southwest in a few years and this book was a reminder I need to return soon.
