I have had this watch for two weeks and I absolutely love it. I did a LOT of research before buying this, and due to a lot of negative reviews, I was quite nervous about making the purchase. If I weren't so firmly entrenched in the Google/Android ecosystem, I would've gone with the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active. But since I use Android, Google pay, Google Play Music, etc., I decided going with Wear OS would be worth it. Plenty of people complain about the battery life on this thing, but I think it's all about what you plan to use it for. I use this as I believe a smartwatch is intended: to receive and occasionally respond to notifications throughout the day without using a phone, and to track workouts. I am able to track a 60 minute workout every day, play music while working out, and view and respond to about 50 notifications per day. My battery life after 13 hours of this reads 40% and would easily get me through any full day. Worth noting: the Google Keep app was inexplicably draining my battery to 0% within about 5 hours, but I removed the app and now battery life is great. I love that I can leave my phone at home and still track a workout while listening to music that's downloaded onto the watch via Google Play Music. I use Google Fit to track my workouts and it is very convenient! I use to use a timer on my phone and have to log the workout and weight I was using. Google Fit detects what lift I am doing, and I input the weight, then it starts a timer to tell me when to start my next set. I also think the watch is beautiful. I am a man with very small wrists (slightly larger than 6 inches). I was afraid to get any smart watch, since I've tried other 41mm watches that look huge on me. The Fossil Sport manages to look sleeker than other 41mm watches, and I am comfortable wearing it daily. The software isn't always super fast, but again, it does what I expect it to do. Google Assistant is great at understanding voice commands, so it is very easy to send texts with your voice instead of typing. If you expect a watch that will basically be a phone on your wrist, that you can play with all day long - look elsewhere. But if you want a smartwatch to be an extension of your phone - to help you see quick notifications, have access to Google Assistant, workout tracking, etc., then this will be a fantastic watch for you. ... show more

Turn off tilt to wake. Turn on Always on Display.I wish they gave that as a battery saving tip. It almost doubled my battery life. Update: After 3 months of owning the watch it stopped charging. I contacted Fossil support and haven't gotten any response. Update: I sent it in for a free warranty repair. Works great again. ... show more

So far I am liking it. Love the different clock faces that you can put. Very comfortable to wear. The only problem that I am having is getting my text messages to come through the watch. If I can get that to work, I would give it 5 stars. But for now 3 will have to do Update, June 13, 2019. My phone FINALLY synced with my watch. Now my text messages come through my watch along with other notifications. So my rating went from 3 stars to 5 stars. I LOVE my watch!!!!!!!! ... show more

I was hesitant about spending $200 on a 'smartwatch' after buying cheap ones to be disappointed every time. I guess, in this case, you get what you pay for. It syncs to my Samsung S7 Edge without any issues and setup was easy. Lots of great features and is easy to use. The band is comfortable as well. I love that I can type or talk to text as well. Definitely worth the investment and can definitely see the difference from a name brand and cheap knock offs (at least when it comes to this item). ... show more

I love this watch!!! I'm coming from. Samsung gear S3, so I expected diminished performance, but there is none. It's light as a feather, it's pretty and small, the screen is brilliant and it's all Google so it's perfectly user friendly. I haven't used it for fitness tracking, so I'll update the review if that is poor, but wow. This watch is solid, as long as you don't mind charging it daily. (It charges super fast) ... show more

4/29/19: Just upgraded from my pretty but totally non-functional Fossil Q Venture (which wouldn't even sync with the phone, let alone do anything else but change watch faces - extreme failure.) So I'm understandably skeptical about this version ... but so far everything is working beautifully. It syncs with my phone without problem, the buttons actually work, notifications are easily configurable, it's (almost) always see-able (not in bright sunlight, however; or in the dark.) Voice commands are a little glitchy but that may not be google assistant and not a problem with the watch. Nice, too, that I don't have to worry about water - supposedly it's even showerable and swimmable (though I don't plan to do either.) Very comfortable on my arm - waaay lighter than the Venture, and the silicone band (I bought pink) is elegant and modern. So - fingers crossed for now. I'll edit this review to add final thoughts after a month or so. ... show more

The watch is pretty and looks good on the wrist. It is full featured. However, the battery life is so bad that I had to charge it twice a day. I tried all the recommendations on Fossil's website to improve battery life. It appeared to me that using any feature at all drains the battery significantly. For example, using the GPS (for fitness tracker) for just 20 mins drains the battery 15%. I could have started shutting down to the absolute bare minimum but then you have a watch devoid of useful features. They could also include some helpful instructions to get started. You have to search the internet for operating instructions and the watch is not so intuitive that you don't need them.
