I first installed LED lights like these in a new construction about 5 years ago, and at the time I paid $24/light for those, when now you can get an entire 6 pack for not much difference in cost. Except these lights have come a long ways: The good: --Weight: The light is very thin and lightweight. The lights I had originally installed I was comparing these too are much heavier because the box is mounted on top of the light so that adds weight, and the light will actually droop down from the drywall somewhat if not clipped in just right. The lightweightness of THESE lights completely eliminates that. --Everything you need: comes with wire protector inserts in the junction box, selectable color temperature, and the wires in the box are a heavier gauge vs. others from Amazon I've tried, and they come with the nice push-in wire nuts already connected, so connection to your main feed is as simple as it can possibly be. Also comes with a template for cutting the hole. --Brightness: the light is very bright an again, you can select the color temperature you want. This is a GREAT feature. --Ease: I'm very experienced in electrical work but these are extremely simple to install and fast to install. Installation tip: Measure out on your floor where you want the lights to go and mark an X on the floor. Use a plumb bob (a string with a heavy washer or something tied to the end of it) and hold that string up to the ceiling to the spot where your washer touches the X on the floor. Mark that spot in the ceiling and that is the center of your hole. --Longevity: I can't speak to that as I'd need to give them several years and wanted to get this review up. --Dimmable: they can be controlled by a dimmer switch. --For new construction, just put the dry wall up and cut the hole when it's all done. No more trying to measure out and cutting the hole just right prior to hanging it. The bad: None, there are no bad that I can identify. I've installed lights like these before and functionally they work great. Except the features of this light are so much better than the other types of lights I had installed several years ago. ... show more

    • Nice Lights, Easy To Install, And 2 Safety Tips

I own several different "brands" of these LED lights and I have found not much difference between them. They are all thin, have the same finish and lighting, same metal junction box, dimmable...well you get the idea. The only difference I have found is the "push in" wiring connectors, which I don't use. It is better and safer to use pigtails and/or proper wire nuts. Also, don't forget to use metal box clamps when running wires into the boxes. MORE on those 2 Safety tips further down. All that being said, these are nice lights with a good finish. Didn't find any burrs or significant flaws. They are priced in the middle of what you can buy. These are about $8.34 per light and you can buy them as low as $6/light and of course higher $12+/light. They are easy to install and I am truly glad they are dimmable. Sometimes, when my head is banging away like my brain is trying to escape, I like being able to reduce the light and glare. Overall a good, solid light. Safety Tip #1 -Don't use Push in Connectors See, what a happens is, over time the push in connectors wiggle loose. Why you ask? Great question. Because every time you turn on a light, electricity will heat the wire and every time you turn off a light, it will cool. This constant expansion and contraction makes that wire wiggle and can eventually come out of the push in connector leaving you in the dark. Safety Tip #2 -Metal Box Clamps See, what a happens is, over time your wires can rub against the metal edge of the box until the live wires are exposed and then...not good. Get the picture. Basically if you are a DIYer, please be safe and follow some simple wiring rules that will keep you from burning your house down or worst. All the best, Just Benjamin ... show more
