I ordered the Red Forged Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrap as a way to get some hands-on practice before attempting to wrap the trim on my car. The only materials I had available for testing were leftover replacement parts from the dash of a 1993 Chevrolet full-size truck. These pieces were quite large, and even split into two sections, they were still too big to wrap with one continuous sheet of vinyl. From my experience, this vinyl is thick and durable, requiring a very sharp (ideally new) blade for clean cuts. The adhesive is impressively strong, but it works best on surfaces that have been thoroughly cleaned with alcohol and allowed to dry completely. One of the standout features is the ability to reposition the vinyl and stretch it with the help of a heat gun. However, I quickly learned that heat should only be applied once you’re confident in the placement, as it activates the adhesive further. Removing all wrinkles and bubbles before peeling off the protective top layer is essential for a smooth finish. Based on my attempts, I recommend sticking to one piece of vinyl for each individual part, especially for smaller surfaces, as it’s easier to manage. Watching a few tutorial videos beforehand also helped me understand the process better. While I managed to learn a lot, I definitely need more practice before I feel ready to apply this wrap to a more permanent project. Overall, it’s a great product, but it does require patience and a bit of a learning curve.

This vinyl looks absolutely great. Good quality material too. Easy to work with. The advertised sizing is spot on. It releases air pretty well. It takes heat really well too. I would purchase this item again.

The media could not be loaded. Not sticky at all, even after heating it up like crazy and shoving it into the cracks it still just popped up. Most viynl is very sticky compared too this, I kept trying and almost got it to look good and then went to pull up to release a bubble and the whole thing came right off.

I'll admit that I didn't buy this for quite the traditional use of fully wrapping objects, but rather for making vinyl cut stickers, so my use case may differ from others. The roll I got came tightly rolled up, causing a little bit a buckling of the tightest rolled portions. After cutting the tape, it unrolled itself into a larger roll (without the tape tension to keep to rolled so tightly), so good luck getting it back into the plastic sleeve. The roll comes with a clear plastic top layer that keeps it from getting scratched up before use. The clear layer is really easy to remove. Moving on to my cutter, I was able to use it just like I would any other vinyl sheet and it cut through perfectly. The glossy red carbon fiber pattern is very visually striking. Applying the sticker to glass was quite easy (again, just like any other vinyl cutout I have made) and I didn't have any issues with bubbles. I'm very pleased with this material. It has a super great look to it and was easy to work with. Probably my only issue is the cost, as it's fairly expensive. And since it's advertised as a car vinyl wrap material, the lack of a larger than 1' wide roll is a big issue (but is fine for my needs) that really limits that type of useage. Now to see how it holds up in the hot summer sun that's coming up. If I have any issues, I'll make sure to update this review.

I've tried several different vinyl wraps for various projects and found this one to be one of the easier to work with when needing to apply over compound curves. It was easy to work around the compound curves without any wrinkling and I had no issues with bubbles. So far it seems to have adhered just fine without the aid of any additional adhesion promoters. I simply cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol prior to application. The red forged carbon finish looks great too.
