It's working fine now but was a bugger to get it going. Pressing the tool key was useless. It did pair readily with my TV after setting it up with the old remote but still didn't work until I stumbled onto "connect to tv" button. It then needed an update that took a long time to download. At this point you may wonder why I gave it four stars. Well, I bought it because, while I love my Sony TV and wouldn't buy anything else, I hate my Sony remote. It's too big and has too many superfluous buttons. I could never find the right one in a dimly lit room. Once working, this remote is smaller (about the size of an Alexa remote) has all the necessary buttons and only a few unnecessary ones like streaming services ones, which I will disable. All in all, I do like this remote.

My grandkids lost my tv remote. It caused me great anxiety because we are not good with technological "things." I opened up the remote and found instructions on how to connect it to our tv. I tried the first one and within 20 seconds, it was connected and working! I was extremely happy! I had been putting off trying to connect it because I dreaded it. It works great and I wasn't angry trying to activate it, so it's a big win.
