I just finished installing this screen. Everything works fine. However... 1) There are no included instructions. The video link that was emailed does not match precisely the steps required to install the screen provided. The video includes removing and transferring the selfie camera and sensors which is not required for this product. 2) While completing the installation, there are two screws for the home button that you remove on the broken screen that are also screwed in on the replacement screen and have to be removed. A bit confusing at first. 3) This screen comes with a replacement gasket to provide additional water protection, but there are no instructions for installing this gasket, so I just left it off. 4) a just nit picking, but the tools that come with this kit are of far inferior quality than those that came with other replacement screens I’ve purchased in the past. Functional, but not quality. 5) as another reviewer noted, the color I the replacement screen is slightly off. Perhaps a blue tint. It is noticeable, but you get used to it. Probably consistent with the price. It doesn’t affect function. So the installation worked fine, but there are several “heads up” that you need to watch out for as you install. ... show more

So by all means this is better than paying >$100 for a professional repair. Warning: unnecessarily thorough review incoming. Pros: - Economical - Thorough instructions; I watched the video a couple times before diving in and it was simpler than I thought. - Not needing to take out the camera! It was one of the more daunting steps of the process I saw in videos but this screen comes with a new one already installed. Very convenient. - Includes adhesive to re-waterproof your phone. I'm a big shower-music-listener so this is great. Cons: - The screwdrivers are very flimsy and I thought I had stripped a screw when in reality the screwdriver was just bad. I'm lucky that my dad had a screwdriver set that included the rare pentalobe screwdriver head but you might want to consider getting an additional set. - I couldn't get the new screen to sit flush against the phone. It may either be a design flaw or user error but my case didn't fit correctly. I had to switch to an older and less sturdy case. Advice: - The colors on the screwdrivers I thought corresponded with the colors on the magnetic pad where you set the screws after you take them out. Not so. Look carefully with a magnifying glass (they're tiny) so you know which one to use and avoid accidentally stripping a screw like I did. - I see people complaining that the screen is more blue tinted; this is true but can be fixed by going to Settings > Accessability > Display/Text Size > Color Filters.     • It works-but....be careful!

So after years of careful use and using Screen Protectors, I finally dropped and cracked a screen on my iPhone 8. I really did not want to replace this phone, because it is a 256 GB model, still works fine and I didn't want to fork out the dough for a new phone or tie into a contract again. I am mechanically inclined, but not a small electronics guy. So anyway I chose this screen as a replacement. Be VERY careful doing it. The worst part was the home button. The screws were a PAIN IN THE A$$ and SO DARN SMALL!!! I have lost one and still cannot locate it. The function of the home button does not work, but the fingerprint scanner does. Screen works, and I was able to use accessibility options on the home button to have one on screen now. That will take some getting used to. But I spent 35 bucks, spent about an hour and half doing this...yes, the home button was that much trouble. For me, it was better than a new phone. Like I said, overall the screen works, but please know this is not a job for the meek. I almost gave up..... ... show more

    • Bad Instructions - Bricked my iPhone

Followed the included instructions, step by step. Turned the phone on, the screen didn't seem to work. Went and read some comments on the other 1* reviews and realized that the instructions don't tell you to unplug the battery first, which you need to do. UNPLUG THE BATTERY. THE INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT TELL YOU TO DO THIS. So this ruined the logic board on my iPhone, and went from a $30 repair to a multi-hundred dollar repair. The tools included did the job, but the instructions left out the most important step. You can use this product, but USE SOMEONE ELSES INSTRUCTIONS. ... show more
