Im a 45-yo woman, I have never replaced a screen before, so I was a little nervous to do this, but since the phone was going to be a total loss if I didn’t try this, I thought it was worth giving it go! The YouTube videos made it pretty simple and step-by-step. I did make sure to keep close attention to what I was taking apart and keeping the screws connected with that piece, that made it a little easier when I was putting the phone back together, I also wrote down what color screwdriver was needed for each step, just saved me some time in the long run. The screws were so tiny that I put them on a little piece of tape so they didn’t fly away. Because I’m older and my eyesight is failing, I definitely needed a bright light and my magnifying glasses to be able to see these tiny pieces. You will need a hairdryer or heat gun as well. Honestly, it was pretty darn easy and I felt very proud of myself after putting the whole thing back together and turning the phone on and having it worked perfectly! I will say it probably took me a couple of hours to do it, including watching the two videos that are needed fully before getting started and then re-watching them slowly as I disassembled and reassembled. It would go much faster if I had to do it again today! I just wanted to go very slow and make sure that I did every step correctly. Dropped my phone face down and busted the screen into hundreds of small cracks. even though it was just used to listen to audiobooks and youtube when I workout, it was still in great shape and may worth a screen replacement. Found this product and gave it a try. The hardest part of the job was removing the old screen because it had so many broken pieces so suction cups were useless. I had to use a heat gun and dig into the plastic frame with a knife to get it out. Other than that, everything else was straight forward. Make sure you take care of those screws. Don’t bother to loom for them if you drop them. I found that out! After hooked up all the components, I tested it and then snapped the screen into the body. Phone works as it should. First things first - it works! I bought this because my old screen started flickering and the touch screen was not responding to any contact on the upper half. This was a major pain because I couldn't even turn the phone off as the shutdown slider appears at the top of the screen. So, I decided to give this replacement a try while I wait for a new phone to arrive. The tools provided worked great, and the installation instructions were very clear. There was only one step (step 12) mislabeling the colors of the screwdrivers required. Not a big deal, I figured it out pretty quickly. But if you take your time and have a heat gun / hair dryer handy to loosen the glue, everything should swap out cleanly. The screen itself is decent quality. It is definitely not as bright/vibrant as the original, and I have noticed a very slight warping/flickering when scrolling in some apps. However, the touch screen is responsive and doesn't seem to have any dead spots from what I can tell. Also, you will get a warning message in your settings that this is not an OEM part but that can be ignored. Overall, I'm happy that I can at least use my phone. I don't know about durability or longevity, but I'm hoping it'll at least last a few weeks until the new phone arrives. ... show more
