I can't say how good the singing actually is, but there are indeed words coming out lol. I bought this to furthur push my brain, and add another activity to the mix. Bought this to bring camping, I tossed it in the big "fun box" I bring. The kids loved it and got the hang of it surprisingly well. It has a good sound and isn't annoying like children's toy tambourines. I think it was easier for them to catch the rhythm as well. Highly recommend. It's a cheap version of a real tambourine. The sounds is not as "real" as a regular tambourine. I don't think I will use it...but will keep it for a kid to play with as a toy.
