Description

Keep half-finished bottles of wine and open bottles of oil and vinegar from spoiling before they can be finished. This set of three bottle stoppers is for use with any FoodSaver vacuum packaging machine that has an accessory port and keeps opened bottles fresh three to five times longer than other storage methods. The corks plug into the bottles while tubing (sold separately) inserts through their tops and removes air from the bottles with the help of a FoodSaver machine (also sold separately). Freshness is sealed in and flavor is preserved until it is convenient to reopen the bottle again. This is an economical investment as it ensures that all purchased bottled food gets eaten and that there are hardly any throw-aways due to spoilage. These bottle stoppers are reusable and easy to clean and fit most standard bottle sizes. • Works great
Works great with my Food Saver vacuum sealer to pull the air out and keep wine fresh, especially red wines that I wouldn't want to refrigerate.

  • Works well with standard Foodsaver.
Works well with standard Foodsaver. Still will be getting a small hand held vacuum pump to work with this to make it way more convenient to use. Definitely a drag getting out the bulky Foodsaver to seal a bottle of wine.

  • Provide a good vacuum
Using these to reseal open wine bottles. They provide a strong vacuum, better than hand pump sealers. Satisfied with them. Only issue is shouldn’t really lay wine bottle on the side with these since the seal could be lost. I put sealed bottle in my wine fridge at an angle to keep wine from seeping into stopper. Very satisfied with these. ... show more

  • Save your wine
Works great, one or two glasses and seal the bottle until next time.

  • Saves my wine
Really easy to use, a little confusing at first cause it fits so nicely in the wine bottle that after you seal it up using the food saver handheld vacuum that you wonder if it works. When you try and take it back out that’s how you know it works cause then you’ll hear a pop like the air seal has broken cause obviously you opened back up the wine. ... show more

  • If you're not drinking the wine fast enough and have a food saver, these are great!
If you have a foodsaver and can't drink your bottle fast enough, these are for you! Let's the wine last longer, and I would imagine the same for carbonated bottle products as well.

  • These work well but you have to know the trick
I've had good luck with these. The trick is that you need to remove the hose IMMEDIATELY after the machine stops pumping -if not before. The vacuum level starts to drop quite rapidly and if you don't pull the hose it drops too far to keep a good seal. Also, you need to break them in as the first few times you use them they sometimes don't keep a seal very well. The more they are used the better they get. The only downside of these are the difficulty in cleaning sometimes. They don't respond well to being dishwasher washed. The warm water tends to make the rubber expand and then the little ball inside pops out and gets lost in the guts of the machine. If it gets sucked into the macerator assembly you are in big trouble -it could ruin your dishwasher. Hand washing is a pain -especially if you are using these to keep oil fresh. Olive and other oils tends to build up and really stain the rubber and stick to it. It's almost impossible to get off without really hot water and that tends to cause the ball to pop out too. Blah! But I only have this issue with salad oils like Olive, Canola, and Peanut. With wine or other bottled liquids I've never had a problem. It is nice that the price has come down on these as they get expensive. I've got 9 of them and often run out as they are all in use sometimes. I should get another 3-pack one of these days. ... show more

  • Not perfect, but pretty good.
Got a set of these with the idea of using them to keep wine and specialty oils/vinegars (olive, walnut, sesame, etc.) fresh. After a couple of weeks, I can say a few things: - I have had one attempt to seal a bottle fail on the first try, but then work on the second try with the same stopper and bottle (10 days and counting now). Every other sealing attempt worked fine the first time. So, it's probably a good idea to check the stopper after a day to make sure that it worked. - Fit is perfect for wine bottles. However, I did not anticipate that most oil/vinegar bottles would come with a plastic pour insert that's difficult/impossible to remove, and even when removable the stoppers often wouldn't always work with the bottle opening size. - For oils/vinegars, you can buy cheap bottles in the housewares department of your local department store. I got a small/medium bottle for $3/4 at a local store, and they included metal pouring spouts for dispensing; an even smaller bottle was only 99 cents at the local dollar store. - Even cheaper, if somewhat larger and more cumbersome, you can re-use wine bottles as storage containers. Brown-tinted are the best, as they'll block the most damaging light rays and keep your fluids fresher. Took away a star for the possibility of the occasional failed seal, and the bottle issues. But I liked them enough to order a second set. ... show more
