I was nervous about buying furniture on Amazon but am glad I did. I needed sturdy bookshelves for my work office, but also didn't want to pay a bundle. This product arrived more securely packed than any "assembly required" shelf units purchased in the past from local stores. Each piece was sturdy and heavy duty and was individually wrapped. Nothing was damaged. I bought two. There are only 5 pieces total in this product; three shelves and two sides. This matters because you do have to assemble this product. Then it comes with a baggie of the few hardware pieces needed for assembly. The shelf unit assembles easily, with a minimal number of steps and only one person needed. I was totally dreading assembly-- but my dread instantly vanished when I saw how easy assembly would be. I had each assembled no sweat in 15 minutes tops, just using my hands to twist in the bolts into already-present holes (no effort or force required) and the small wrench provided to finish-tighten up the bolts at the end. The company provided extras of the nuts and floor protectors as well. Some of the extra touches make this stand out too. The holes are pre-drilled and are reinforced. Extra pieces are provided. Screw-in floor protectors are provided. Everything lined up with ease. You can see the finished product in the attached picture. This is the "walnut" color in natural light. I would order from this company again without hesitation. The shelf units are sturdy, solid, look nice, and were easy to assemble. For someone like me, who doesn't like to deal with parts and assembly yet wants a decent quality product, this was a win. ... show more

When the package first arrived, we brought it into the front room of our house and not long after noticed a strong smell of cigarette smoke. We opened the outer box and it was like walking into a bar (back when people still smoked in bars). It was so bad, we have to leave it outside for 2 days to air it out. My expectations at that point were very low. But once I opened the (now stink-free) box, the unit was packaged well. All the pieces were accounted for and in good shape, with a generous addition of extra bolts etc. Instructions were very clear and the unit is sturdy and attractive. Overall very happy with the product and would order this again, but holy cow they need to do something about where these items are being stored before shipping (this is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). ... show more
