I fish the local arroyo for trout at night off the dock and I have lost a couple trying to flip them onto the dock from the water so I got this net. Wanted something portable so I can leave it in my truck all the time. The construction on this is incredibly sturdy. The hoop is solid aluminum and the tube is a nice thickness with no give to it. Overall it has a bit of bend to it but not to where it feels flimsy. I tested it out with a six pack of sodas and it lifted them up no problem. It folds up very compact and I can clip it on my belt behind my back so I don't lose it. The hoop itself tho is really large in size and I can easily throw a 20" trout in there. Can't wait to try it out this weekend and catch my first fish but I think I might just hit a local canal and try my hand at some bass just to put this net thru its paces. Don't expect to land any 20lb drums with this but it's great for bass and trout.

Ordered as its foldable hoping it would help cut down on clutter. Arrived promptly and packaged well. This net is light, yet surprisingly sturdy. I was worried it would be flimsy, especially at the fold point, but it locks in securely and feels solid and sturdy in all areas. The net mouth is wide and the net itself is a rubberized material which will help prevent hooks getting stuck (getting hooks out of normal net roping is a pain). Another great feature of this net is the flat bottom (basket-like) to the net. Definitely makes getting the fish out much easier. Finally, with the wide net mouth, rubberized netting and flat bottom, I expect it will be safer on the fish. I release all fish, so minimizing harm is important me. Based on the quality, portability, safe netting features and cost - this is a great option for any fisherman.

As any angler knows when bringing a fish into the boat or just netting in general. One must pull the fish in line to the net as not to break it. You would need to do that with this one. This net has a soft rubber net, telescoping handle, and the net basket flips out to make it a little easier to store. If they used a little better products such as billet metals, this would be a better rating.

Not a very good quality net. I’m going to keep it because I need it. The rubber is very thin the metal hoop it’s not very sturdy. If you’re not going after anything bigger than four or 5 pounds probably not a big deal. The only plus about it for me is the rubber net keeping the repel from tangling.
