Description

A man who crapped his pants, an old lady who whacked an employee, a redneck arrest and more are all in one place in this book. Fly on the Walmart: Confessions of a Young Walmart Greeter contains numerous stories of the crazy and hilarious things Walmart customers do. This book is not affiliated with the company of Walmart. So many other books talk about the company and the boring fiscal details. The customers and their antics are so much more interesting, and they are what this book talks about! Their real antics are revealed through the eyes of a young woman who saw these people every day as an employee and a fellow customer. Read more

  • Interesting Read
Format: Kindle
I enjoyed reading this book. It gave me new insights on the challenges of store greeters. I have a new respect for what I previously thought was an easy job. The author describes in great detail some of the more interesting customers she encountered on the job. The part about the motorized wheelchairs was totally disgusting. I can't believe customers have such bad manners and leave messes for others to clean up. Actually, I can believe it, after working in retail for over 19 years. Kudos to the author for writing such an honest, humorous memoir of retail. ... show more

  • Stupid book
Format: Kindle
I thought this might be kind of funny, but it is not. Not at all. She has some funny situations that happen to her, but the way she tells them just isn't funny. I got about 1/3 into the book and decided it was stupid. Don't waste your money. It was not even worth the discounted $1.99 kindle price.

  • Fly On the Walmart
Format: Kindle
This book was very boring, I am sorry to report. I had hoped that it was little short stories of humor on the job. No nothing like that. Sorry folks, every once in a while I am bound to purchase a big, huge dud!

  • Very whiney
Format: Kindle
I understand that working as a Wal-Mart greeter is incredibly hard work, and being on one's feet while suffering migraines doesn't make the job any easier. I'm also sure the respect for Wal-Mart employees would improve if the company itself showed respect toward the employees. But Ms. Mango, except for relatively few instances, shows very little empathy or compassion for the customers shopping at her Wal-Mart. It's possible that some of the people she encountered were suffering mental illness or some other kind of brokenness, yet she pokes fun at them. I hope Ms. Mango grows up a little before writing another book. ... show more

  • Good read
Format: Kindle
I was surprised to see so many negative reviews. The author did exactly what she set out to do. She provided many stories of her experiences with customers. I didn't need to overlook bad grammar and typos. Each experience was told and then the next one was told. A collection of experiences that I found interesting. I didn't realize how crazy people could be at the doors. I will also be more careful with touching the carts. Yuck. Good job. I enjoyed reading the book. ... show more

  • WTF
Format: Kindle
I never write a book review. Even if I didn't enjoy a book I keep my opinions to myself. I feel different about this one though. This is probably the worst thing I've ever read. This doesn't even qualify as a book. It's barely an outline, really is a bunch of random and incomplete thoughts put on paper, and in no organized fashion. How she graduated college baffles me. Does Wal-Mart have a university? ... show more

Most of us are familiar with Walmart however, the stories were mostly funny and Ms. Mango is going to improve and I will be watching.
