This product is completely unsuitable as a step stool. It is not just poorly designed it is unsafe. I was almost very badly injured when it failed and i fell off of it. I am an installation technician for a living I ise step stools and ladders every day and never had one fail. I weigh 195 so under the rated weight. This company will probably try to say i used it some how improperly. I have 20 years working with all kinds of ladders and step stools daily without ever having any kind of equipment failure or injury. This company is very lucky that this only ended up with a bad review and not a lawsuit. If you value your safety shop somewhere else.

The top joints snap out and bow open when you stand on it. It is on the verge of breaking after first use and felt very unsafe. I am well within the weight limits of the product. Spend your money on something sturdier.

I’m lucky I didn’t require medical attention after this cracked and collapsed while I was standing on it. I weigh around 170 lbs and am over 60 years old. I used it in the kitchen a half dozen times and it completely buckled outside the return window. It was opened completely and used properly. I bought this after seeing my grandchildren use one, but I’m going back to a sturdier step-stool, even if it takes more room to store!
