The media could not be loaded. Purchased this muffler after cutting off my old exhaust from a 93 Jeep Cherokee 4.0l. I was not satisfied with a straight pipe and single glass pack sound, it was way too loud and not enough power. This muffler gives it a very nice sound, and creates a great amount of back pressure (with no cat in between). This improved my acceleration, reduced harsh vibrations, and made it more bearable to drive my old Jeep around. I would definitely recommend using this in a straight pipe configuration, especially on a XJ with the 4.0 engine. ... show more

I put 2 of these on my f150 5.4 that was straight piped from the cats back. They have an excellent tone and a good balance of not too loud, not too quiet. Also the performance and shift points are WAY better than without them. Highly recommended

I pieced together an exhaust for an old 1991 F150 using this muffler and quieted it down some from the two down pipes which was all that existed for an exhaust for the 4.9L. Its still rather loud and aggressive sounding more than the 300 inline six should have any business sounding like but it isn't obnoxious like those down pipes were. My main concern was ducting the fumes out from under cab toward the back where I dumped it out the side ahead of the rear axle. I'm more happy I don't smell exhaust fumes inside the cab anymore and the deep tone she has definitely grown on me too. Additional note: For anyone that has an OBS 4.9L and either bought the truck lacking anything of an exhaust because someone cut out the entire system including the cat leaving only 2 down pipes. Don't bother with original downpipes and welding them to a collector like I did just look for Walker Y pipe with the part number 45166 and bolt that to your manifold flanges.
