Overall, it closed a gap in the floorboards with little effort and very little time. Pros: Suction cups provide good adhesion, so long as the board is pretty smooth. These lightly textured floorboards needed a little water, but stuck very well. Strike surface is easy to hit, being as an angle. When I ordered, I was concerned the suction cups would be too large, but they were in fact sized perfectly for my floor. Solid construction. Includes the rubber mallet, which is handy for a lot of other uses. Cons: It's not going to stick to heavily textured surfaces. Even with water, there's only so much suction cups like these can provide. ... show more

This tool is quite useful for adjusting plank positions parallel to the long axis, but not very handy for lateral movement. The convenient angled striking surfaces are right for down and forward motion, but the high, thin edges mean that the tool tends to tilt, and possibly lift from the flooring, when struck sideways. I feel that competitive devices with a single larger suction cup and a vertical striking surface will prove more versatile. The PSA plastic squares seem very useful for textured surfaces. They should also be offered as a separate accessory. I found the mallet too light for my task. Good instructions would also help, especially a reminder to thoroughly clean gaps in existing floors before trying to close them. ... show more
