An easy to use, tile gap, repair tool. Works like a dream! Get this if you have gaps in your LVT.

A few years ago I installed luxury vinyl tile into my mudroom and guest bathroom area. Over time, whether because I didn't do it absolutely perfect, or just because things move and shift, I found that I had some gaps show up between the tiles. Unfortunately, I just assumed (for a year or so) that I'd just have to deal with it and leave the gaps where they were. Thankfully I ran across this tool and it absolutely did the trick to help me fix the gaps in my tile. This is an extremely durable and somewhat heavy tool that you "stick" to your tile (it comes with sticky pads) and then with it stuck to the tile you hit the tool with a hammer in the direction that you want to move the tile. It does a really great job of incrementally moving them and installs really well. Its a really great value for what you pay for. Be careful to plan out your tile moves (similar to when you installed it) so that when you hit one, you're also anticipating the other tiles to slide as well. Very easy to use!

Great Grip, Versatile Design

I really like the design of this tool. The grip feels great in the hand, and the build quality feels really nice and solid. It made fixing gaps quick and easy, which is exactly what I was looking for. One thing I particularly like is that the included mallet has uses beyond its intended purpose. I’m a big fan of multi-use products, and having a mallet that can be useful for other tasks makes this more versatile than a single-purpose tool. The different angle options are also a nice feature. Being able to adjust the angle gives me more flexibility depending on what I’m working on, especially when I need to apply some downward force. Man this tool can take a beating! The HLOGREE Floor Gap Fixer Tool Kit comes with everything you need to beat laminate back into place (basically the rubber mallet). The tool holds onto the floor well and can easily move disconnected pieces back into place. If you are feeling frustrated, give this thing a few whacks and you will feel better. Overall, this tool is very solid and can hold up to both professional and handyman use.

Floor Installer’s Little Orange Cheat Code

I recently finished installing LVT flooring and used this tool heavily during the process. It ended up being much more useful than I expected and definitely made the installation easier. The tool itself feels well made and sturdy. It held up well even after being hit repeatedly with the included rubber mallet. Nothing felt flimsy, cheap, or like it was going to crack or bend during use. The mallet is also a nice addition. It has a good feel to it and worked well for tapping planks into place without feeling like a throwaway accessory. The sticky bottom works surprisingly well. It grips the flooring/surface nicely when you need it to, but it can still be pulled off without much difficulty. That balance is important because you want it to hold while tapping, but you also don’t want to fight with it every time you need to reposition it. I also appreciate that it comes with an extra sticky pad for when the original eventually wears out. The design is simple but effective. Being able to use it to help close gaps and shift planks into place made the flooring process smoother and less frustrating. The 45° and 90° striking surfaces are also useful depending on the angle you’re working from, especially when you’re trying to avoid lifting or damaging the flooring while still getting enough force behind the tap. Overall, this is a very handy tool if you’re installing laminate, vinyl plank, LVT, or similar flooring. It feels durable, grips well, comes with a useful mallet, and genuinely made my flooring project easier. I’m glad I had it for the install and would definitely recommend it.

Good tool, bad mallet

This style of gap fixer is much better for LVP and its fragile interlocking pieces than a conventional flooring puller. This tool in particular is a good one. The gummy pad on the bottom holds firmly but still releases cleanly, and they include a spare pad for if/when the first one wears out. The frame is sturdy steel, with a nice thick handle. The whacking plates are at a good angle to be accessible even near a corner, but still translate the force mostly sideways where you need it. However, the included mallet isn't really the right tool for the job. It doesn't have enough heft to apply the force you really need. You are much better off getting a proper rubber mallet that is heavier and doesn't need to be swung as hard. That mallet will be useful for hitting the flooring directly too, as long as you get a white/non-marking one. See picture with comparison of included mallet vs the mallet you actually want. For the $20 price, it's a handy tool worth investing in before your LVP project.

The Floor Gap Fixer Tool Kit with Rubber Mallet for Laminate, Vinyl Plank, Hardwood, Heavy Duty Floor Gap Repair Tool with Washable and Reusable Sticky Pad, Durable-Made of Iron, No Noise - with Felt Pad (1) turned out to be a genuinely useful addition to my DIY toolkit when I tackled a section of shifting laminate planks in my hallway. The iron construction feels substantial in hand, and I appreciated that it did not flex or wobble during use. The sticky pad works surprisingly well for gripping planks without scratching the surface, and being able to wash and reuse it is a practical touch. The included felt pad also helps protect finished floors while you work, which I found essential on my hardwood sections. The rubber mallet that comes with the kit is adequate for lighter tasks, though I occasionally wished for a bit more heft when coaxing stubborn planks together. The no-noise aspect is real, which I appreciated in an apartment setting. Assembly and setup are straightforward, and the tool handles both floating floor systems and glue-down installations reasonably well. A brief instruction sheet would help first-time users get oriented faster. Overall, this kit performs reliably for weekend floor repairs and small renovation projects.

Pads wear out quickly.

Handy Tool, Very Easy To Use

I grabbed this to fix a few gaps in my laminate flooring, and it worked way better than I expected. I vacuumed out the gaps and cleaned the area first, then got to work. The tool feels sturdy with a nice powder-coated finish, and it comes with a rubber mallet and strike block. After just a couple of taps, the gap closed right up. I moved down the row and had the same result all the way to the wall. The sticky pad on the bottom holds it in place while you tap, but it peels off clean without damaging the floor, which I really appreciated. I was originally going to try one of those DIY hacks with tape and a wood block, but this made the job way easier and faster. Definitely a great little tool to have on hand.
