For other artistic types who enjoy dumping paint and getting their hands dirty - this is a must have for anyone who does pour-painting! By adding Floetrol to your acrylic paint, it creates a better consistency for pouring without sacrificing the quality of the color. Definitely worth the money to purchase Floetrol to use in pour-painting rather than adding water to your paint for pouring - I've done both methods and after comparing, I will always use Floetrol. It helps from muddying the colors as they mix and preserves the opacity of the paint.     • Wow -- old dog, new tricks

Very experienced DIY'er here. Been painting and refinishing various things for a lot of years. Can't believe it took me this long to discover this stuff. I'm working on a big built-in cabinet project. All scratch built. Started painting some of it with sprayer because I didn't want brush or roller marks. But what a nuisance that sprayer is. Wastes paint, takes way too long to set up, gotta put up plastic everywhere, takes too much space to do the spraying. And the CLEANUP -- yuck -- takes forever! I've got a lot of painting left to do on these cabinets. About twelve feet wide by nine feet high. Need to paint the cabinet interiors, face frames, shelves, and 20 doors. So I started Googling to see if I could find a way to paint by hand without leaving brush or roller marks. I found mention of Floetrol on a forum somewhere. Dug further. Bought some. Figured I'd try it on a few of the adjustable shelves to see if I could avoid hauling out the sprayer and all that plastic sheeting for the rest of the project. Just tried it. Shelves were already painted with primer and sanded. Added eight oz of Floetrol to a little less than a gallon of Sherwin Williams Emerald Interior Acrylic Latex Paint (semigloss). Definitely need to make sure you mix up the Floetrol itself -- very gloppy. Then when I added to the paint, I mixed the heck out of it with the paint mixer drill attachment. Used Ace best quality small (4" x 3/8" nap) white woven paint roller to spread the paint. I was pretty generous with the amount I applied. Great news: looks like it was sprayed. No trace of a roller mark. Nice, smooth, uniform coverage. No need to do another coat either. I do think the resulting finish is a little less glossy than it would have been without the Floetrol, but definitely worth it. With so much more painting to do on this project, I'm very glad I found Floetrol. Saved from the sprayer! ... show more

I love the fact that Amazon carries a gallon of Floetrol. our local home improvement stores do not carry the gallon of flow trial they only carry the quarts. It's such a better bargain to just buy it from Amazon.

Not sure Wowza is a word, but in this case, Wowza! I use Flood Floetrol in my paints for fluid art, and it's amazing! Shipment is crazy fast and secure. They always have the spillproof strip of tape across the lids and sometimes also placed in a secure bag to prevent spills and to contain a spill incase it happens. I've not had any spills in shipment from this seller. I highly recommend this product if you Use a "pearl" recipe for fluid art. Price is great for the amount of product you're getting also. It's easy to open and also to secure. There's no scent that I can smell when I use this. I've heard the one with irange lid has a bad smell. I've always received the white lids and have had no issues. ... show more
