So easy to put together. All the pre-drills and cut wood pieces matched and they were finished nicely with no rough edges. The soft pine wood was easy to screw together with the enclosed hex wrench so I used the tool provided. The assembly diagram is good but it does show the shorter screws as (a) for putting the shelves together. Actually, the longer silver screws are the wood screws for assembly. It’s easy to figure out because there are 16 (+ an extra) of them. The 8 black screws are for hanging the shelves. I didn’t look at both sides of the shelf bottom before I started assembly, so I didn’t realize there were counter sunk holes for the screw heads. I put those screws in from the wrong side. It still works but check that the heads of the screws are going into those counter sunk holes and you won’t make the mistake I made. See photo. I do plan to add a protective coating before hanging them in kids’ rooms since unfinished wood can be difficult to keep clean. But, the fact that these are unfinished does give you the option of choosing your own color paint or stain. ... show more

I ordered these "Floating Nursery Book Shelves" to put on the walls of my studio, so I could have frequently used items nearby without cluttering my desk. These are deep enough for most of my needs and they're a very useful and welcome addition to my studio!
