I got this floating net for fishing from a paddleboard. Knowing that capsize was always a potential risk, I didn't want a net that could head straight to the bottom, and I wanted a long enough handle to reach without having to lean too far. This net solves both of those problems readily. It floats with plenty of buoyancy to grab it if it goes swimming. As all of my gear ends up in a lashed-down milk crate on the board, it's nice having the ability to fold the net and get it out of my way while traveling, then simply unfold it so that it's ready for use when I'm fishing again. The handle feels solid and the rubberized net should help avoid fouling hooks in the mesh. As far as size, it's bigger than I'll need if I'm looking for trout, but fine for bass fishing, and probably smaller than I'd want for much ocean fishing, but that's not a problem for my needs. Should be a decent little net for walking the river beds or kayak fishing. Pretty decent size for large bass or anything smaller, but bit too short for anything much longer like pike. It's light weight enough to clip to backpack or belt and not have it be a bother which is exactly what I was looking for. Handle easy to fold or unfold, but sadly it does not lock closed only locks open, but not a huge deal as the direction it hangs it shouldn't be an issue. The way it locks open might eventually loosen up as it's plastic and the metal rubs and scratches into it a bit as it flips open, but currently locks open good with no wiggle. The netting is coated in a soft rubber which should be easier on the fish, dry off faster, and last longer. It's a decent little net especially for the price I'm definitely not complaining at all. ... show more

What an awesome net!! Love, love, love it!! Its sturdy, collapsible, the bottom part of the net underneath has a rubbery coating, which is handy, its adjustable in length, has a handle loop, also has a buckle clip plus a small carabiner to clip onto your belt/wadders & let it float while you fish. It seems well made also. I definitely recommended this for all kinds of fisherman. Spoiler alert, we do not use this net for fishing, but rather to get stuff out of the pool. It is not as long as a regular pool pole, but it works well for us. And it is easy to store because it folds up so nicely.
