This is the kind of tool that seems unnecessary until you drop a screw somewhere deep in an engine bay and suddenly spend 20 minutes trying to reach it. The 24-inch flexible shaft gives you a lot more reach than a regular pickup magnet, and being able to bend it around hoses, brackets, or other obstacles is especially useful for automotive work. I also like that it combines a magnet with a 4-claw grabber. The magnet works well for metal screws, nuts, and bolts, while the claws give you a way to retrieve things that aren’t magnetic, like plastic clips, keys, or other small objects. The spring-loaded handle makes the claw mechanism simple to operate with one hand, which matters when your other hand is already holding a flashlight or trying to move something out of the way. It’s not a complicated tool, but it solves a very annoying problem and takes up almost no room in a toolbox. For mechanics, DIY projects, or even just retrieving something that fell behind furniture, it’s a handy thing to keep around.

Strong Grip and Well Built This is one of those tools you don't use every day, but when you need it, you're glad it's in the toolbox. The first thing that surprised me was how much force it takes to open the claw. That's actually a good thing—it gives the grabber a very firm grip on whatever you're retrieving, so small parts don't slip out while you're pulling them through tight spaces. One thing I did notice is that the claw housing is a bit larger in diameter than another grabber tool I own. That means it won't fit into some of the really narrow spaces where a slimmer tool can reach. It's a small compromise, but worth mentioning if you regularly work in very tight engine bays or cramped mechanical assemblies. The tool feels well made and sturdy rather than flimsy. At $9.99 (price at time of order), I think it's a worthwhile addition to any garage. It's especially handy when working on vehicles where dropped screws and bolts always seem to find the hardest places to reach.

I ordered this Flexible Grabber Tool and immediately upon opening the box, I was impressed with the quality of the tool. It is much more heavy duty than the previous inexpensive ones I’ve used in the past. Not only does it have the grabbing feature, the magnetic tip is very helpful too. Upon receiving it, I had a screw that fell the previous day in an area I couldn’t reach and this tool made it easy to reach the screw and I didn’t even have to grab it, the magnet did the job. It is very useful for retrieving small items in tight spaces. The spring loaded handle operates smoothly, and the four‑claw grabber holds screws, keys, jewelry, and other small objects securely. It is a very handy tool to keep around for automotive work or household use. Overall, I am very happy with it. I hope this helps with your shopping experience.

The combination of magnetic tip for metal fasteners and four-claw grip for non-magnetic items in one 24-inch flexible shaft covers the situations that come up in a garage regularly—dropped bolts behind equipment, items fallen under shelving, anything in an awkward corner where your hand won't fit. The build quality is decent, it is made of aluminum and the spring body and grabber arms are presumably steel. The magnet in the tip is a good strength, I was able to pick up a 10" vice grips with just the magnet which is cool. The grabber arms are a little sharp so you may want to sand the edges down a bit if you expect to grab anything with a finish on it that could get scratched. I like that the button was nice and big. The spring body is stiff enough but does bend when you need it to.
