This is a game changer when it comes to keeping your electric connections dry in rainy weather. The first year I didn’t have our Christmas lights go out due to rain in the electric cords. Hi all Let me say I have dozens of these now. Because I have over 400 Christmas Inflatables and every year I buy more. My first attempt at these type of covers I bought ones that were bigger but didn’t snap down. So I had to use weights on top. These however I love. So why not 5 stars? Let me explain Please understand I just ordered 13 more as I’m writing this. So they are awesome. Pros: Easy to use The rubber ports are already in I can fit large Belk surge protectors and the smaller longer ones and I also use small square that have usb, 3 prong etc protectors. I have use it with many weird shaped plugs for inflatables. Light weight Truly waterproof Water doesn’t pool on top like others Cons Ok here is why they lose a star. Well really 2 parts of the same reason. As I was buying I just happened to see the QnA and they had the question of Do the Snaps break. And the answer was No, because “insert some reason”. Ok they don’t break…. But they fall off constantly. Just opening the snaps the first time they fall off. Many times they won’t go back on as they are warped or the latch connector is. So most of them only have 2-3 actually snapped. And sometimes I can get them back on, other times I just sorta force snap it but it’s not really on. Does it stop it from working? Nope. Does it keep it waterproof still? Yep. But don’t fib about it. I’ve spent over $1,000 dollars on these and everyone is the same. So they need to work on this. Suggestion: Many of my extension chords will have a T shaped plug every like 3-6 feet. But using a giant box (large) is super costly. If they made one that is 1/3 the size and made it 10 bucks I’d still spend 1,000 but all my inflatables would be covered. At some point I have to turn to plastic wrap lol. I have found that using power outside when your cords and cables are exposed to weather can be unpredictable at best and dangerous at worst. Our previous home had a ton of under truss power and we never had weather get to our outlets or power strips. Our new house doesn’t have that luxury, and so we went looking for a solution. These are great - as you can see in the pics, you can do a number of combinations of how you want to store your power and feed it out while keeping the seal to the box water tight. We have found that once we had these in play, we didn’t trip breakers again. In full sunlight, they can get a little flimsy, but they still maintain their water tight design. Plenty of space to add more and the seals for the cords look as though they could handle a couple of thin cords or 2 heavier duty cords. If you need to keep your power waterproofed and your outlet is covered, this is a great transfer box to power multiple other items while keeping the plugs and receptacles free from water. ... show more

I am using these boxes to protect the cords and control boxes for external lights. Super nice they come in a lot of colors and the design is good. The cords fit into a track with soft rubber pieces that fold to the shape of the wires. So far, no issues. The box is big enough to give power bricks a bit of space to keep cool. Smaller boxes I think they would get way too hot. Florida will give them a good test of water and UV loss of color. But so far, they are working well. Recommended. ... show more

    • Bigger Than Expected But That Doesn't Matter

For more years than I would like to admit, I have put up holiday decorations and every single year it rains at some point while they are out. A few of my connections end up wet and throw my GFI breaker. The yard looks ignored during the holidays on those nights the lights can't come on while the connections dry out or the rain comes down. I had the thought to find a box weather proof box to make those connections in and this is what I landed on. It was bigger than I expected (or needed), but that doesn't matter. Bought this in May 2023. The recent Calif storms (Jan 2024) came through and this unit's walls had warped from sun exposure enough to let rainwater flood and ruin the expensive outdoor smart plug. I wouldn't use the word 'waterproof' to describe this box. Best if you mount it above ground and under an eave. *** Update - recd a refund and offer for a free replacement!
