Right to the bottom line: the Flamma FS02 Reverb sounds great, has an excellent set of features and is a fantastic bang for the buck. Brief background: I’ve been playing guitar for 56 years. I have been through a lot of gear. Now the details: this pedal comes very nicely packed and protected within its box, in a bag and also with a protective foam controls cover. There’s a clearly-written manual, even a sticker. After a brief search, I found a more detailed manual online at Flamma’s website. Superficially, it’s a very good-looking pedal, at least to me, with some heft to it, a metal enclosure, a clickless footswitch, nice graphics, and good control layout. I found it very easy to use right away. Besides the usual mono guitar signal into pedal scenario, it’s can also be used stereo in / out, which let me use it to feed 2 separate amps’ fx loops simultaneously or put it on a stereo bus when recording. The 7 factory presets are well thought-out and sound good to my ears. The usual suspects are covered, even a “mod type” and a shimmer in the “church” preset. These factory presets can all be user-modified and saved to your liking by overwriting the factory settings for each preset. When you realize, as I did, that you made things worse, a “factory reset” is very easy to do. As is the process of turning “trails” on and off, which in itself, like the quality of the footswitch, is a very nice touch at this price point. When you take into account the cost of the current “king of the hill” of pedal reverbs (for me it’s the CXM 1978), the Flamma FS02 does an admirable job for less than a tenth of the cost. Can we all just take a minute to appreciate our friend, the over-worked and sometimes underappreciated reverb effect? Heck, at this very moment, there are thousands of guitarists feverously debating which little green box will make us sound like Stevie Ray Vaughn. All the while, the lowly reverb effect is dutifully working away without so much as a pat on the back! So, I put it to you, fellow citizens, isn’t it worth going beyond your amp’s built in reverb and getting a proper reverb pedal? I am a tone hound and any time I make changes to my rig I record before and after tracks with a portable recorder with 2 condenser microphones. Then, I compare with headphones. Yes, I’m nerdy that way. I had all but decided on the MXR Reverb or the EH Oceans 11. Then, I saw a comparison of low-cost reverbs on 60 Cycle Hum (a great resource for pedal fans) and decided it would be worth it to take a chance on a lesser-known brand like Flamma. Especially considering the Flamma costs about half of what the other reverbs I considered. Here are my impressions: 1. Reverb is lush and varied 2. Every parameter I would want to tweak is included 3. You can save user settings 4. Even in an effects loop with a daisy chain power supply, the unit operates flawlessly 5. It offers stereo in and outs 6. According to some surf connoisseurs, the spring reverb setting doesn’t truly “drip”. Maybe so, but to my ears, the spring setting is still well represented here and is one of my favorite settings 7. Most importantly, it seems to build a beautiful reverb while retaining your guitar’s tone. It doesn’t transform your tone, it enhances it. So, I believe the Flamma offers great value for those, like me, who are price conscious but still want a quality product. If you are chasing a specific verb setting, like say, the spring setting on the Ocean’s 11, it might be worth spending more money to get that. If, however, you just want an all-around lush reverb, with a sturdy build and plenty of features, I would highly recommend the Flamma FS02.

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall sound and fidelity of this pedal. As a professional keyboardist, stereo in/out is a must. The reverbs all sound pretty good (although the "spring" is a little dry in my opinion) and my favorites are the "Mod" and "Church" settings. The amount of tweak-ability on the pedal is pretty outstanding for it's price. I like the high/low cut filters so that I can have a massive sounding reverb without it clogging up too much of the frequency spectrum. Only two problems I had: one is that the preset interface is a bit odd. If you find a setting you like, you have to save it or else when you turn the pedal off and then back on, it reverts to the factory setting. This is kinda frustrating if you're turning the pedal on and off during a set. The other problem I had (nitpicking here) was that the pedal doesn't come with a power supply, does not run on batteries, and didn't come with a decent manual. You have to get a power supply if you don't already have a one spot and I had to look up the owner's manual online (the pamphlet you get only describes what each mode is). At this price-point though, I think it's fair to say that this pedal is unbeatable!

Ok, I shopped quite a few reverb pedals to end up with this one. I did some side by side comparison of this pedal along with Boss RV-6, GOKKO Creepy, Ammoon PocketVerb, Valeton Ocean Verb, and JOYO Atmosphere and TC Electronic HOF mini. I will tell you, the Price of this unit, although it is very affordable, was not the reason I ended up with it. I like this pedal best. 1 - it looks awesome , kinda has that DarkGlass look to it. 2 - it is incredibly user friendly 3 - the design is very well thought out, and I liked it best of all pedals, including TonePrint by TC Electronics 4 - has a good selection of Reverb Types 5 - Sounds great First, I will say, I am not a HUGE reverb buff, and saying that I mean, I don't like BIG, WARM, OVER THE TOP reverb types, I can usually find happiness in Room, Hall, Plate or Spring, and usually do not like Modulate, and am not a fan of Dynamic or Shimmer at all. For the most part, side by side, if you leave all controls neutral, out of the box, all the pedals have similar sounds. some were a little noisy and arcifacting, but overall, they all performed pretty good. My least favorite sounding was the BOSS RV-6. it was very warm and colored my bass tone. Yes, it changed the sound of my bass. none of the other pedals really did. The JOYO and Valeton had a lot of noise in many of their BIG types of reverb, but were pretty standard for the rest. The JOYO, Valeton, and Ammoon were all room temperature. The Boss was warm, but the Gokko Creepy and this Flamma were ICY COLD. This is what I look for in a reverb, I like cold, crisp, empty reverb, and these two pedals did a great job of that. The controls on the Gokko were clumsy, and you would need to continuously dial in your sound, with no real setting for the TyPES that is claims to have. The controls on the Ammoon and JOYO were big, and easy to see, pretty easy to read. The controls on the Valeton were tiny, hard to wok with, and it was impossible to read. The HOF mini, not enough control for me, and you can only use 1 tone print at a time. if they had the HOF2 regular pedal in stock, I probably would have got that and stuck with it, and probably would have passed over this FLAMMA FS02, and that would have been most unfortunate. So, this pedal, Icy cold, very crisp, and the Halls and rooms couldn't feel any emptier, and I LOVE IT. The controls are great. There is a vertical indentation on top of them all, with a dot on one end, so you can easily see how each nob is set with a quick glance. The POCKETVERB also did Delay, which I don't really care for. fi you like delay, that is not a bad pedal for the price, only problem is you have only one set of controls for both effects, but it is manageable. The design of this pedal is unique, and very good, easy to use and I love it. There is a row of colored lights across the pedal. there are 7 lights to be exact, and they are each a different color. and you guessed it, they represent the type or reverb. There is no selector nob, with no tiny lettering to try to read and see if you are on the right type. you have one button above the light bank. you press it and it moves across to the right. the types are starting on left - to the right. Room, Hall, Church, Cave, Plate, Spring, Modulate. once you remember that (and I did quickly), you are set. ALSO, you can set the controls to neutral before you move to the next type, or you can move to that type, hit the foot switch to turn it off, adjust the controls to 12oclock, and then turn the reverb back on. you get Level which is MIX, high and low cut. These do not color your sound, they are used to remove any coloring that may occur (which I found none) then you have Decay and Pre-delay. standard. So, once you dial in the sound you like for the type you are on, including the level (mix), you can hold the button for a couple seconds, and it is saved. This way, when you come back to it, you don't have to neutral out the nobs, and start over. Very halpful. Also, if you do move the control, the light will flash, letting you know that something has changed, so you can be sure to save it, if you want, or ignore it if not. It is a nice, sturdy, cool looking, well built, feature rich reverb with an ICY cold, crisp, empty sound that does not color your tone, and its only $66, what more can you ask for. I guess if you like Delay with your reverb, you could ask for that. And they answered, cuz for about $30 more, you can get the Ekoverb by Flamma, and I bet its good. that one, you can control the reverb and delay separately, unlike the Ammoon PocketVerb, but thats what you get for the extra $40 bucks From what I understand, the older Boss RV-2 or 3 were icy cold, and that many boss fans are unhappy with the current RV-6 because of the warmth it has. If thats you, and you need a new reverb pedal, check this one out Oh yeah, all that, and its stereo You can easily factory re-set if you want to clear all the settings, just take the power out, then hold the button and power on, when you let go of the button, it resets. Plus you can add or remove tails. take the power out, then hold the foot switch and put the power back in. this turns it on or off. When it is off, the pedal lights up RED (everything but the color lights for the type) and when it is on, the pedal lights up blue, so there is never a question which way it is. like I said, very well designed pedal.

This is an amazing reverb pedal. If you told me this pedal costs twice what it actually costs, I would believe it. I own a Boss RV-6 and a Chase Bliss Mood, and this pedal holds its own against them. I plugged it in this morning and had originally thought I would spend an hour or two getting to know it and play around with it, but it's already been four hours and I'm still having fun tweaking knobs and being immersed in the sounds coming out of this thing. To make this review short, I've decided to list the things I like the most: 1. THE AESTHETICS: I'm really into how this pedal looks. From the flux capacitor-like foot switch to the color to the preset bar, It's sleek and futuristic. 2. THE PRESETS: I love that the 7 presets double as savable presets. With my Boss RV-6, if I find a setting I like, I have to snap a picture before I can change anything, and now I just have dozens of photos in my phone that I have to scroll through to find the right one. It's so useful and easy to just save the setting I Like and never have to worry about losing it or messing around with knobs between songs. 3. HIGH/LOW CUT FILTER: The high/low cuts are very easy to dial in so that it sounds great with any guitar or pickup configuration. I'm getting into vinyl-sounding lofi neo soul kind of stuff, so it's nice to be able to have the reverb reflect the overall eq of my setup. 4. PRESET 7: Preset 7 is really where this pedal shines (or shimmers - see what i did there?). In fact, it could be the whole pedal and I'd still buy it just for that. It's a unique combo of mod/delay/verb that doesn't sound like anything else I have. I also really like the cave setting for slow, expanded ambient drones. 5. VERSATILITY: Like most musicians, I play diverse genres, including jazz, blues, ambient, post-rock, and pop. This pedal handles them all super well. I can get a nice slapback for blues, subtle room reverb for jazz, and long, cascading shimmer for ambient. 6. STEREO: I play only through an amp sim into my interface, so stereo is a must for my setup. To get such an exceptional use of stereo out of a pedal at this price-point amazes me. My RV-6 ostensibly has stereo, but I've never really noticed it taking advantage of it. This, however, feels like a true stereo pedal. I'm definitely going to add it to my board along with the RV-6 and Mood, as it provides some great features and functionality and really complements them. If you're looking for a reverb pedal that's simple to use but offers a ton of features and creative ways to make your own sound, I highly suggest the Flamma Reverb pedal!

Wow! I really love this reverb pedal! You have the option of mono to stereo (which is how I use it the most), or stereo to stereo, or mono to mono. You can use it in between your sound source and your mixer or in your amp's fx loop. I’ve used it with a mono synth and a drum machine with a mixer, and guitar in my amp's fx loop and have gotten some really great results. There are plenty of customizations you can make for each setting, and there are seven great reverb types, one per each setting. When you find a setting you like, be sure to save it because it will revert back to whatever is saved when you disengage and reengage the pedal. I prefer it in Tail On mode, and it’s really easy to switch (see directions on the Amazon page). True bypass is excellent. Be sure to get a proper power supply. If you have one of Flamma’s vocal pedals, like the FV02 or FV03, that power supply will work (the ones I have say 9V 1.5A). Otherwise, pick up their FLAMMA 9V 300mA Power Supply for Electric Guitar Effects Pedals Tip Negative. DO NOT USE A BOSS POWER SUPPLY (does not supply enough current). I highly recommend this reverb pedal!

This pedal is fantastic, especially for the price point! I really appreciate the high pass filter and pre-delay knobs as they provide lot of versatility that you wouldn't normally get on a budget pedal. With the right pre-delay it can even sound like a delay pedal. A few observations: - the "shimmer" on the church setting is on the subtle side, which I personally like, but this may not be enough octave effect for some - the mod Reverb washes out into a beautiful whispery ambience; very nice effect - My one gripe with this pedal is that if you're looking for a more subtle reverb with a shorter decay, all the modes except room have a pretty long decay even with the decay knob all the way down. That said, room mode sounds great so not really an issue. You can of course compensate with the level knob (which is effect level) to a certain extent as well. In this day and age when you can spend $300-$500 on some Reverb pedals, it's great to have reasonably priced options like this that pack a surprising amount of value into a well built and well designed pedal.

Seven months after buying this Flamma FS02 product, it started to do something very strange where it would randomly kill the output audio from the box. In the middle of a gig the signal from this box would slowly cut in and out. I did the usual stuff like check the connections and unplugged and replug, but nothing helped. I finally reached out to Flamma support over “live chat” (which isn’t live). Each time I would chat them, it would take at least a day or more for them to respond (we’re talking weeks worth of back and forth). Each time I chatted they wanted me to take different steps to troubleshoot, including sending me a new power supply, which I confirmed mine was just fine. Works with other pedals. At the end of the troubleshooting, they wanted me to take a video which is ridiculous because when you’re in the middle of a live show, you can’t be taking out cell phone to take a video of your issues. The cherry on top is that they wanted me to pay for return shipping of the defective unit. I’m not sure what happened but somehow they ended up shipping me a brand new unit before I decided to ship my unit back. The biggest issue of all is like a bad joke, the new unit that they sent me was dead on arrival and doesn’t turn on at all, which is even worse than the defective unit I already had. Several days ago they stopped responding to my chats so I decided to use the email form of communication today. I would be happy to revise this review and give it a full five stars if I would actually get a replacement pedal that works longer than seven months and wasn’t defective upon arrival.
