  • Loved this bag for nine years!
Color: Black
I bought this bag in August 2014 and use it nearly every day as a student, a bike and bus commuter, and now a professional at a university. It's held up so well!! And just this week the threading on one strap has started to come undone. Considering the amount of weight and nonsense I've put this bag through, I'm super impressed with it. A few tiny holes have started to form at the bottom, and even then, they're not bad. I just had to write a review cause it's so well made. ... show more

  • Great backpack!! But it needs just a few more pockets.
Color: Black
I haven't carried a backpack since I was in high school, and got this because my back was starting to bother me from always carrying a heavy bag on one shoulder. (I now teach, and usually carry a couple of folders, a book or two, a bag of markers, a snack or water bottle, and a thin laptop, all of which fit surprisingly easily in this bag.) The bag itself weighs next to nothing, and the very first day I wore it, I noticed the difference in my posture and how my back felt at the end of the day. I like the special laptop pocket with padding, and between that and the foldover top, I feel my laptop is very secure in here. The straps are comfortable enough that I don't even notice them, without being bulky. The canvas seems rain-resistant but I wouldn't carry it in a serious downpour or wear it biking in the rain. The hook closures seem more secure than magnetic snaps, and the one outside pocket is roomy enough for everything I need. My only wish is that this backpack included two more outside pockets on the sides (for an umbrella and/or water bottle), a loop to clip my keys to, and one pocket or compartment on the inside to organize pens and valuables. I think these could easily be added without junking up the streamlined look of the bag-- which I love. ... show more

  • Great bag for the office or around town!
Color: Black
I have been looking at the Foldsack No.1 for a very long time. It was listed on Fjallraven's site at full price. Recently Amazon has been offering certain colors at anywhere from 50% - 10% discount. I took advantage of this and purchased this bag and have not been disappointed! It looks very small out of the box, but is actually very roomy, 16 liters worth of roomy. It can fit my Macbook Pro 15" and still has a bunch more room to fit textbook size objects. There is a pocket in the interior of the pack that fits my 15" laptop with room to spare in the pocket. The clasps for the flap have a hook at the end to be extra secure. The front zipper is very roomy. I was able to fit an entire ipad air 2 in it! (see attached picture). I could only find 2 pockets of sorts, the one inside the backpack that can contain a 15" laptop and the zipper-accessible pocket on the front. The zipper can be covered by the flap as long as there's not something super tall in it. The material has the tendency to pick up lint and and dust, think cotton and wool on black pants. It can be easily lint rolled away. The official specs: Height: 40 cm Width: 30 cm Depth: 15 cm Weight: 590g Volume: 16L ... show more

  • Love it
Love, love, love my Fjallraven Fold Sack! I'm a grad student and I use this bag everyday. I used to have a messenger bag, but got really tired of lugging around my laptop on one shoulder. I wanted a bag that looked more minimalist, but could also handle my 15 inch Macbook (there is a laptop pocket inside the bag). This bag fits everything I need for a long day working at my office, dashing between classes, or traveling to conferences. The straps have held up really well despite the weight of my laptop (which I was a little nervous about initially), and have just enough padding to be very comfortable without being bulky. I have a small organizer bag for keeping all my little items, cords, etc. from floating around and getting lost in the bottom (though you could just use the front pocket for that). Oh... and another huge plus for this bag - since it has a fold over design, the height of the bag (and therefore the internal volume) can vary depending on how much stuff you add and how tight you cinch down the flap's straps. I haven't had any issues with the hook and loop closures, they hook/un-hook as expected. I've never had a hook come undone, they always remain in-place. ... show more

  • Great as a diaper bag
I used an Okie Dokie diaper bag for more than a year, and would love to try a backpack style. Kankan Classic used to be my first choice because of its cute look and the side pockets. But there are too many fake ones out there. I did some research on this bag before purchasing including several "field trips" to shopping malls for colors and inside design. Pros: 1. Space. The adjustable strings allow more space than those with zippers. It could fit in the stuff that my 15 mo. boy uses for a half-day trip, my 16oz water bottle, a Nikon D7000 camera, my clothes, and even a tiny blanket. 2. Design. The G1000 material the bag uses is waterproof! Plus my back won't feel hurt while carrying it for a long time. No side pockets won't be an issue as long as your bottle is leakproof. Cons NONE as for now. PS. I used the global delivery service. The price including an import fee almost HALVED the listed price in shopping malls here in Beijing! It arrived before the scheduled date, with great packing. I ordered a red one with a lower price a week later. I didn't lost my mind. JUST LOVE IT!!! ... show more

  • This bag is exactly what you think it is
I use this backpack daily and couldn't be happier with it. I's big enough to hold my 13 in laptop, cord, and a few books or notepads, but still lays flat on my back, which I prefer. The front pocket isn't anything special, but I just wanted a place to throw some odds and ends and it works great for that. The straps are supportive. I feel like I can walk at least a mile with the weight of a computer and feel just fine. The front claps take a little breaking in, but once you get a rhythm down, they are easy to use and I honestly prefer them to any other closure. Visually this backpack is a stunner. The red is very true to the photo. It's deep and bright and stands out in a fun way. I've had this backpack for about 6 months now and I still get compliments on it all the time. It's well made, water resistant and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a sleek bag to carry around a moderate amount of stuff. ... show more
