  • Truly a hidden gem!
Color: Dusk
This pack is exceptional! Fjallraven is just one of those brands that gets it right. I really like the simplicity of most of their products. Also, everything they make is of the highest quality you can find. I am happy to pay the premium price to get a premium product that will outlast anything else. I had much rather own less stuff, but had what I do own be top quality. Fjallraven embraces this philosophy and I enjoy their products. This particular pack is just the right size for a personal item bag for air travel, a nice day pack for hikes, or just a sharp looking edc bag. There is very little information about it online and I couldn’t find any blog style reviews or videos. I decided to purchase it anyways and I’m happy I did. It really is a hidden gem in their line up. I hope they continue to make it for years to come. I do recommend putting your laptop in a top opening sleeve of some sort for extra protection. I have found that using this type of sleeve allows me to pull out my MacBook and leave the sleeve behind in the pack even when the pack is loaded with other stuff. Overall, I am very satisfied. I also purchased their little gear bag in a tan color to throw cables and charging blocks into. I plan on tossing this into the main pocket on top. ... show more

  • Fantastic bag
Bought this because I was looking for a backpack I could use for daily commuting walking or by bicycle, and it's been great. It is very solidly constructed, perfectly waterproof, and can easily hold my 15" MacBook Pro along with a sweater, water bottle, books, etc. The straps use a very clever hook and loop mechanism that takes some getting used to but seems much more long-lasting than the plastic clips used on other bags. My only warning to others is that it is an incredibly simple construction - there are no internal pockets other than an inner sleeve to hold a laptop and one pocket on the front that is covered by the fold - so if you're someone who likes to keep your stuff well-organized inside your bag, this may not be the bag for you. It can also be a little annoying to access the stuff in the front pocket on the go as well since there's no way to grab it without unhooking at least one of the straps. Still, relatively minor annoyances. I got it in green and it looks pretty snazzy - its much brighter and less "military" in color than you might expect from the pictures. ... show more

  • Excellent minimalist bag!
This bag is perfect for throwing a few things in it to head out for couple hours or half a day. I use it for my treks into NYC, via transit. Its slim enough to not add much bulk to myself (gotta fit onto the crammed subway train and through thick crowds) yet big enough to hold a book, few magazines, ipad pro, very light jacket, 40oz water bottle and plenty of snacks. This bag feels extremely durable and I plan on buying another one if I can get it for a great price. They definitely are water resistant and can be almost waterproofed which is awesome. Love it! ... show more

  • Great as a diaper bag
I used an Okie Dokie diaper bag for more than a year, and would love to try a backpack style. Kankan Classic used to be my first choice because of its cute look and the side pockets. But there are too many fake ones out there. I did some research on this bag before purchasing including several "field trips" to shopping malls for colors and inside design. Pros: 1. Space. The adjustable strings allow more space than those with zippers. It could fit in the stuff that my 15 mo. boy uses for a half-day trip, my 16oz water bottle, a Nikon D7000 camera, my clothes, and even a tiny blanket. 2. Design. The G1000 material the bag uses is waterproof! Plus my back won't feel hurt while carrying it for a long time. No side pockets won't be an issue as long as your bottle is leakproof. Cons NONE as for now. PS. I used the global delivery service. The price including an import fee almost HALVED the listed price in shopping malls here in Beijing! It arrived before the scheduled date, with great packing. I ordered a red one with a lower price a week later. I didn't lost my mind. JUST LOVE IT!!! ... show more

  • Great backpack!! But it needs just a few more pockets.
Color: Black
I haven't carried a backpack since I was in high school, and got this because my back was starting to bother me from always carrying a heavy bag on one shoulder. (I now teach, and usually carry a couple of folders, a book or two, a bag of markers, a snack or water bottle, and a thin laptop, all of which fit surprisingly easily in this bag.) The bag itself weighs next to nothing, and the very first day I wore it, I noticed the difference in my posture and how my back felt at the end of the day. I like the special laptop pocket with padding, and between that and the foldover top, I feel my laptop is very secure in here. The straps are comfortable enough that I don't even notice them, without being bulky. The canvas seems rain-resistant but I wouldn't carry it in a serious downpour or wear it biking in the rain. The hook closures seem more secure than magnetic snaps, and the one outside pocket is roomy enough for everything I need. My only wish is that this backpack included two more outside pockets on the sides (for an umbrella and/or water bottle), a loop to clip my keys to, and one pocket or compartment on the inside to organize pens and valuables. I think these could easily be added without junking up the streamlined look of the bag-- which I love. ... show more
