These shelves are great, especially for the price! We have trim up so we had to knock out the back corners but they worked perfectly! They are not particle board but it is a very soft wood. I ended up returning these. I was so hopeful given the size and the price point, but these shelves are fair too expensive at 30$ for the quality they offer. They are not real wood or wood composite, they are cork or cork like material. You can make indentations with your nail. I thought the brackets were sturdy, but if you are using a drill, you are going to have a very difficult time if you don't have an extension piece as the screw holes are too close to that corner stabilizer. I was so frustrated installing this that after I installed one, I said this wasn't worth what I paid for it and requested a return. Again, I felt the price point was too high given the poor quality. Also, like all of the other reviews, there are no drill holes, so you will have to choose which side the shelves will go and be committed to that side. I had to return these with two shelves with pre-drill holes. I did give this product two stars because it does function properly. If you want a corner shelf, this will be fine. But if you want a good quality corner shelf, this isn't it. Please read the reviews, I swear when I bought these less than a month ago, there weren't so many bad reviews. I think a lot of the positive reviews might be for hype and this product got bumped right at the time I was looking for a corner shelf to solve my problems. I'm overall disappointed. This is not the quality of material I want in my home. I was hoping I could still make it work, but I couldn't. I went with my gut and just returned them. I was never going to be happy. ... show more
