This Shelf did exactly what I needed. I did mount mine to a stud and I would recommend you do the same. The shelf unit is very sturdy and the glass shelves are nice, beveled edges and come with rubber pads to put where glass meets metal. I like the fact that you can loosen the bolt that holds each shelf on and adjust so shelf is level. I just sat a small level on the shelf and once was level, tightened bolt down good. The shelves were true to size as advertised. I was able to put an Xbox and the power transformer on one shelf! I was able to hide all the wires so it looked really nice. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the screws that came with it to mount to the stud were Phillips head screws. I did pre-drill, but had a hard time getting them all the way in without stripping out the screws. I went and got hex head bolts to put in their place, but the recessed hole that the bolts go through is to small to put a socket on the bolt. There is a cover that goes in the hole after mounting so I couldn't make the hole bigger. I ended up grinding the bolt heads down to the next smaller size so I could fit a socket in the hole. Here is my suggestion to fix this problem. Mark your holes and pre-drill them. Get to hex head bolts the same size. Remove the unit and drive the bolts all the way in to the wall with a socket. Remove the bolts and put unit back up and install with the screws that come with the unit. By putting the first bolts in and removing them, essentially the holes are pre-threaded and you would not have any problem getting the Phillips screws in. My suggestion to the manufacture is to make the access hole a little bigger and supply a bigger plug. Then it could be installed with hex head bolts. ... show more
